I want to build up my Savage MKII FV or start a complete new project rimfire.
So I'd like to see what people are doing with there precision rimfires, what actions they are building them on and how well do they shoot.

Thanks
ron

Rifle: Cooper 57M LVT
Scope: Zeiss 6.5-20x50
Ammo: Eley Sport
Distance: 50 yard, 5 shots
Note: This is a brand new rig, I just tried it three times so far, so it is not broken in yet. My plan is to put through it at least 1000 round, and then try some high end ammo. Hat's off of smak daddy and Eagleye.

Smak daddy and Arctic Warrior. Great groups showing there! AW, that Cooper obviously has great potential. sd, your annie seems to like that Center-X. I have a HB Remington 504 that likes it as well. Accurate rifles, and rimfires particularly, are my passion. I just noticed on my first post that the target is a 100 yard target, but I should clear up the fact that those 5-shot groups were fired at 50 meters, not 100 yards. I would love to have a rimfire that would consistently shoot such tiny groups at 100...in my dreams only! LOL

Just to know... How much is that exact setup worth? Would be nice to just buy it pretuned and all... I want it ><

Meph; Replacement value for the SUHL with the BR stock and 36X Leupold is in the $3400.00 area. The 40X and 6.5-20EFR is only slightly less, about $3200.00. The SUHL rifles are very hard to come by, since the supplies have largely dried up. The Remingtons are available new, but a good used one makes more sense, financially. A word of caution if you happen to find a SUHL. The barrels come in a variety of rifling twists, with some being as slow as 19" These slow twists are not good for LR stabilization in cooler weather, so I would avoid any twist slower than 17" . Mine is a 16¼", so works well in all temperatures. If you decided to go the Remington custom shop route, then I would opt for the 16", which seems to be the best option, overall. I had an Anschutz M54 Match, which is also a very fine rifle, but I sold it, since it, while close, was not able to consistently keep up with the SUHL and 40X. Regards, Eagleye.

Thanks a lot! Do you recommend any actions available in Canada? something to build from the ground up that would equal a SUHL, or is that the remington route? Like where do you get the tuner and the stock?

Thank God!!!! :D

I saw those groups you shot and I thought they were at 100 yards. I was wondering whet the hell I was doing wrong!:p

If I could find some high end match ammo locally,I would like to see just how close I can come to the test targets included with my Cooper.Of course,I would need a scope with more than 9x as well.As it is anything less than 3/8" at 50 yards with ammunition costing $5 per box,and a 3-9 scope is good enough for me.

Stubblejumper; sounds to me like you are happy with what you have, and that is what really counts. Chasing the "Holy Grail" is time/money consuming and frustrating. You have a great day, Eagleye.
