N00b question: CZ858 or SKS?

Well i just got my sks and tapco stock as well as some duckbill mags. I cant say it is a better gun than the cz but i dont think the cz is leaps and bounds ahead. With the tapco stock it is pretty light weight and plenty accurate for my liking. I actually did better with the sks than my cz at 50 with iron sights. I will say that if all ur shooting is corrosive its nice to have the chrome lined bore and wtf its a 200 dollar gun. I spent 540 for my entire setup with stock mags and scope mount so id say its a better deal that the cz. The trigger is the big downfall but wtf it aint no tac driver.

I took all the wood off my CZ, but with it on it just felt better to me than the sks. I'll probably get an sks too. Then sink more money on tapco parts. I think sks' are more abundant also. Better to have a CZ now and get a sks later rather than the opposite and find there is no more CZ's left.

I Tapco f**ked mine and it shoots better than it did in stock configuration.

(btw it was a Russian 1952 if it makes you feel better :D).

As a non-collector I don't know the significance of the year...although in general I have found the russian SKSs to be good guns.

But I can tell you what doesn't make me feel better...barrel mounted bipods and hardguard rails. But it is definitely classic Tapco design...

Oh I hate the rails, but switching out the bayonet for a bipod was a very good choice.
