I am looking for reviews and information regarding PGW Coyote.

If anybody here owns one, it would be great to hear first hand experience as far as performance and quality is concerned.

Also, they advertise sub .5 MOA but don't say at what distance or with what ammo specs.

How this rifle compares to the Accuracy International systems?

If you do a search you'll find nothing but happy customers.
Custom action, with a krieger barrel screwed on, mounted in a mcmillan A5 what more could a person say.........there is a reason they're used by the canadian forces

There are a few threads about them on here. From what I've read, they're terrific guns and I haven't heard about any owner not liking them.
I'd like to get one someday as well.

Accuracy claims are usually done at 100m/yd.

I thought so but wasn't sure. :p

(I tried to search here for similar threads as I always do before asking but with no success. If you by chance can post the links, I would really appreciate it. :))

I was lucky enough to try a few in 308 and they are great:D You will not be left wanting with a rifle like that. Expect better than .5moa. Seen .3moa at 540 yards with one during one day at the range while the owner was still trying to get his load set up.

Disclaimer (This is not my rifle)

So, I received my PGW Coyote about a week ago. Ordered this gun in January, if the guys at PGW tell you that it takes 4-6 weeks for clearance on importing the gun, I can say that time is overly optimistic. Overall the PGW people are really great to work with, I mostly dealt with Ross who was very helpful.

I mounted a S&B PMII 5-25x56 with a P4F reticle on Badger rings on this rifle. I am very happy with the setup. After bore sighting I took 'Yote out to the range for zeroing. The temp was about 45 degrees. Only took about 10 shots with 168 grain Federal Match rounds to get it dialed in and good-to-go.

Here's what things look like all set-up. Wish I had some good pics from the field but the battery went dead.

Yesterday, I took the gun out into the mountains for a little longer shooting. I started with some relatively short range shots at 440 yards. I had not chono'd the Fed 168's as of yet so I just used a Ballisticard for mil adjustment at approximately 450 yards which was a 3.0 mil adjustment. All 4 rounds were solid steel, a little high but no big deal.

Next, I stretched things out a little more to 765-770 yards (again wish I had some good pics, dang battery!) and again using the Ballisticard came up with an adjustment of 7.4 mils for 750 yards and 8.3 for 800 yards, I adjusted to 7.6 mils for the 765ish yards I was shooting. After a couple shots I wasn't hitting steel at all so I moved down 1.0 mil to 6.6 mils and was able to start hitting my steel target. This info led me to think that the gun is shooting faster than the 2600 fps that the Ballisticard and the Federal ammo is assumes. Plus I was shooting a an elevation that is about 1000 feet higher than the elevation where I zeroed the rifle, I suppose that would make a difference as well.

Today I dug out the chronograph and went back out to the range to see what kind of FPS I am getting. The average was 2705 which when entered with the elevation change in the iPhone Ballistic program tells me that I should have used a 6.4 mil adjustment. Makes a little more sense.

What was really interesting to me (and I would really like some feedback on this) is that my zero shifted from several days ago as you can see in the photo here. The three shots that are 1 inch left and 2 inches low were taken today after I reset to zero mils windage and elevation. It was about 7 degrees warmer today but I have no idea why my zero would shift this much. The other 3 shots right at the center of the target were taken after I made some adjustments. My my estimation they are about a 3/8" group, a real testament to what a great gun PGW makes.

I have been critical in the past about the cost of these rifles, but having met the guys that make them and seen their shop, and seen the incredible quality that goes into them, I would give the better part of my left nut to own one. I actually felt a huge amount of pride to be seeing such a fine product being made right here in Canada.

These guys use Krieger cut rifled barrels... (They deal directly with Krieger, so I don't want this to be seen as self-promotion), and the actions on these beasts are indestructable. The results I have wittnessed personally (And I have shot a couple myself) are on par with any custom gun - period.

As to AI vs. PGW, well, they (PGW) use a system that is largely Remington compatible, 'nuff said. AI is proprietary.I will not comment on AI accuracy because I have never shot one of their 308's. The 338 version was impressive, but I have little against which i can objectively compare.

They (coyotes) are not built to be a "benchrest rifle": These are built as an extremely durable, incredibly accurate sniper weapons sytem that is ACTUALLY used in that role. This is no Mossberg Night train. I would put this rifle against any SWS in the world. In a perfect world, I would love to see the Canadian National FTR team take these to the World Championships in Raton. Until I can swoon a rich benefactor into coughing up 50 grand, we can only dream. :D

pgw coyote i have that i would say 5moa at 100m yes. i would put it against any sniper weapon in the world good as the aw a.i.s yes thay make the best

You wont go wrong with one. I have both Timberwolf and the Coyote. I got the wife into shooting and let her run the Coyote when I am not shooting it and she runs less than 1/2 MOA with it out to 300y.

The workman ship on both rifles is second to none.

Do you mind to share the specs for the rounds you run on your Coyote or do you use commercial .308 target rounds?

I am running Lapua brass, CCI LR primers, 155 Scenars over 45g of Varget. Getting around 2950fps. Going to work a load up with 175 Amax as well. This shoots a 3 shot group at jus under .2 MOA.

If I do my part this will stay in .3's all day. Shooting clay pigions at 600y opens a few peopls eyes. I am extreamy happy with the rifle and Ross is a great guy to deal with as well.

Thanks a lot. I am just starting reloading so this is a very valuable advice.:)
