USPSA Area 7

yes,..had one really bad stage with miss and a bunch of D's,...and one stage with a brainfart near the end (the kind of stage where you wait,...look at a target,.. and then fire a round at it because you thought you missed it...LOL)
managed a 12th place at 84%. Argh. One bad stage will tank your results with such a low round count/ stage count. nice area and good RO'ing. Lots of up close hosing type targets,..which is fun.
Only complaint is the Chrony running,....we were waiting for it to get fixed,..or something like that. It was run on a range with a stage which meant sharing the range with the squad shooting it. Waited for about an hour after we were done shooting. The RO had me sweating. My tanfoglio stock2 weighed in at 44.03oz with one mag, and 44.01oz with another (aluminum base plate, flat base plate). The USPSA rules state 2oz over the manufacturers declared weight. (NOT .02oz)....ther RO had me get the flat base plate to try and get under the weight, but then said it was ok anyway....?
Other than that I had a fun time. IMHO,...the match would have been JP's if he did not have that monster jam and the few stove pipes.

OH,..just saw the results and saw they tossed stage 6,..the only stage I came in 2nd on as of last night. That figures. Apparently everyone from Friday ->on shot around the walls,...while (this is coming from Brian Enos forums), the thursday shooters did not. The thursday shooters were mostly staff. This is fustrating. Knocked me out of top 10. I did enjoy the match,..and appreciate and thank the staff who ran it, but throwing a stage at the end of the match is BS.
Just to add I did put down Law Enforcement on my application, but it is not in the overall results....(2nd overall LE in ProductioN)

go ahead,..I put all kinds of vids on the net,...good for me to learn from my own mistakes,...usually encourages me to lose weight.
I bought some stuff while down in that area...as picky as I am about my footwear, I had been staying away from the Cleats/type footwear. Just did not think them necessary, but I can see where they would come in handy. I got a pair of nike Land Sharks- mids while in Albany for $40 at Dicks. I might try them out at Dalhousie. Also got some Peltors 6-s for $70. (compared to $120-130 north of the border)

See you then Roger,..drive safely! Good meeting you.

IMO it was a mistake to throw a stage just because RM decided it was unfair to some shooters. It was a stage. Nothing was change or alter, so it should stay.
On the other hand it they would extend the walls it would make a heck of stage.

I know it's a different rulebook, but...

2.3.4. If the Range Master (in consultation with the Match Director) determines
that the physical or procedural change results in a loss of competitive
equity and it is impossible for all competitors to attempt the revised stage,
or if the stage has been rendered unsuitable or unworkable for any reason,
that stage and all associated competitor scores must be deleted from the
match.

If the RO's agree that they explicitly told some shooters on Thursday that they must shoot from the ports only, then the RM made the right call.
