Does anyone know the recommended min. and max. charge (grains) for IMR 4064 powder with the Barnes 168 GR .308" TTSX Boattail (Tipped Triple Shock X Bullet) for 308 Win.

I have a good load using IMR 4064 and SMK 168gr bullets and want to try using the same powder with the Barnes 168gr TTSX.

I have found some load data for Barnes 168gr TSX BT bullet using H4895 and RL15 in the Barnes Reloading Manual, but nothing for IMR 4064:

Powder Min Charge Velocity Max Charge Velocity

150gr:

H4895 42.5 2701 45.0 2,854
H 335 42.0 2644 45.5 2,888
RL 15 44.0 2733 48.0 2,935

168 gr:

H4895 40.0 2491 43.5 2693
RL 15 41.0 2540 45.0 2755

Can I use the load data for TSX BT above for the Tipped TSX BT. Below are the (correction: sectional density) and bullet coefficient for both types:

.308" 168 gr Tipped TSX BT SD .253 BC .470
.308" 168 gr TSX BT SD .253 BC .404

SD stands for sectional density, not side dimension.

You could simply reduce the powder charge for the 168gr SMK by 10% and work up the load from there while watching for pressure signs.

the load data you listed looks like 150 grain data

You are right, the data listed were for the 150 gr. Below is the load data for the 168gr:

H4895 40.0 2491 43.5 2693
RL 15 41.0 2540 45.0 2755
