No. I loaded these to see if they would feed in my rifle. Sort of the ultimate meplate.. They are simply Barnes bullets seated unside down.

Too bad you couldn't get your Merkel there.
As for the Ruger, you think the PH would have that chit sorted out! After the first jam I would have had that rifle apart, and used rocks to file out the problem areas if necessary. Unacceptable in a "rental rifle"; that's like sending you out in a rental car with no brakes or seat belts.
FWIW, I have seen more then a few Kimbers and Rem's with feeding issues as well. Nothing a flat and round file cannot fix.

WOW thats some good filing.
But seriously. Great report. You had some bad luck and worked through it and it seems it was a success in the end. I think a bad scope sucks and its nice to have open backups. The gun thing may be just a file away from perfect, but as issued was junk. I would take a Ruger misfeed over that Rem anyday though. Don't want yer #### to fall off...
