I got one of those rubber buttpad's for my 2009 Polytech rifle (the one that adds an extra inch) and the bottom buttstock screw appears to short to install back on. Is this normal? Where would i find the proper length buttstock screw?

You need to get a longer screw from somewhere with metric screws, like Home Depot or Canadian Tire. Its the screw that goes into the sling hoop right? I remember going through this a couple of years ago.

Yeah, the screw that goes into the sling loop is too short. What kind of screw thread is it?

Thanks for the tip, i supppose i need to make a trip to the hardware store.

If you find the exact screw length, model no. and manufacturer and/or place of purchase and price, please post it here. I'd like to get one too.

I took a close look at mine. I see that I replaced the upper screw (can't remember why??), but on the lower screw, I simply took a drill bit and sunk the hole deeper so there was more screw protruding.

I had the same issue with the norinco wooden stock. I ended up going back to the metal butt plate (with the flip up hinge taken off to reduce weight) as the extra inch made the eye relief on the scope all wrong.
