Total BS. If that was the case every person who changes barrels on an old Auto 5 to shoot steel must have a half dozen registartion cards floating around. Check the stickies at the top of the page for links to the relevant info.

Not unless the change would result in a change to the legislative classification of the gun. So if you're putting a factory 14 inch barrel on your Benelli, you'd need to re-register. Otherwise, you're just converting one non-restricted gun into another non-restricted gun.

Not an expert here, but I think in this case (shotguns) the receiver is the firearm and the barrel is considered an uncontrolled spare part. Explains why you can buy extra barrels for an 870 or even how some guns come with 3 barrels but only 1 regestration.

Edited: They beat me too it

everyone has it... doesn't need to be re-registered unless the barrel length changes its classification. What concerns me is that this retarded info came from a gun store employee. What other B.S. are they filling people with?

The funny thing is that if it's the same gun store that is inside the home hardware in Barrys Bay, that is where i purchased my slug barrel from. I cant believe for a second that the guy saying all of this actually thought he knew what he was talking about. If he did he's and idiot, and should not be running a gun shop.
