On Saturday August 14th, we held the 1st CAS match in this part of New Brunswick. "A day in the life of a cowpoke" was comprised of 5 stages and we finished up with a Gunfighter competition. The total round count was 49 pistol rounds, 47 rifle rounds and 20+ shotgun rounds. It was fun, exciting and entertaining. The 1st shot rang out at 10am, when a pack of wolves tried to attack the herd, but no worries the cowpokes of the "Double B" were up to the task. With 11 shooters registered, we we're done at 2:30pm with time off for lunch and refreshments. We had purposely kept the invitations down, this being our 1st effort and all.
We were somewhat nervous but we are very pleased with the feedback we received after. One of our shooters, aka "Wounded Belly", who has years of experience both as a shooter and as an organizer, assured us that we had put on a 1st class shoot. Thanks "Wounded Belly". We are now starting work on getting ready for next year. I will keep ya'll posted as we go forward.
