Are you a fan of single shot shotguns?

What do you have and what do you use it for?

I have a Stoegar IGA 20g.....it sees action for rabbits, grouse, squirrels and all sorts of other vermin and small game. It is just such a pleasure for carry and shoot.

Let's hear it!

CBC 12 gauge has one box of shells throuhgh it since new 20 years asgo. and my dads old cooey 12 bought new in 67 no idea how many rounds we have shot with it but lots of game from deer to ducks

Cooey model 84. great .410. my grandfather gave it to my dad, and now its mine. my little guy is no doubt going to put down a few rabbit and partridge with it too one day.

i like my Rossi 20ga
well built and priced under 300$ with a .243 barrel in the combo
the taurus hammer lock is a definite plus for safely storing it if you had lil ones around, add a trigger lock and its not gonna shoot

lightweight, simplicity and ease of maintenance are second to none on a break action single shot

As fate would have it I just finished reading an excellent article (an oldie) written by John T. Amber re: the single shot shotgun. An excellent read and an eloquent statement on the virtues of this underrated arm.
(in Gun Digest: 40th anniversary Digest of articles written in the previous 40 years)

I got a browning BT-99 and it tickles my pickle !

Its my go to gun for shooting trap! I just love it to death!

Cooey 840 in .410 obtained through family member estate sale
Baikal IJ-18 in 20 ga X 2 3/4" obtained through family member estate sale
Thompson/Center New Englander 12 ga Muzzle loader, grouse and ducks!

have a cooey 84 12 ga. It saw some trap range action for a while and a couple of rabbit/ grouse hunts before the barrel got chopped for a truck gun. Neat little back packer with the short barrel, but I would like to pick up another one for hunting again.

The most used shotgun in the collection is my NEF .410 single. Was new in 88 and limits out on chickens every year since.
