So I've been kicking around for a stripped AR 15 lower. I am on a tight budget so I'm looking for something inexpensive. I had decided on the Blue Line lower until I got the shipping estimate, which must include some kind of handling charge as it's well beyond reasonable.

I'd like to know if there are any opinions of the Aero Precision kit? Would the Blue Line be worth the extra $50?

In the end I intend to have two different uppers for this rifle. One for me and one for my daughter who is left handed.

I know there are going to be better lowers out there but I don't have the money for the flashy stuff. What I'm looking for is function and reliability for the cost.
 
if your on a budget, have you considered a Norinco lower?
You could probably find a complete one for a pretty good price
 
Honestly, if the lower is made to spec, there is very little difference between an Aero Precesion and a top shelf upper (ie LMT, Colt, etc...). The BlueLine units are well made, and they are Canadian, so that is kinda cool...is it worth $50 more? Probably not. That said, you can often get stripped RRA, Spikes Tactical, Bushmaster, etc... lowers for $199...again, not really any difference, except for a more "tacticool" name.
 
Aero precision is a good company they manufacture OEM for Armalite which is a very good brand. Aero now makes awsome mono-lithic uppers that are pretty sweet and priced well at 699. It defiantly would look good on top of that lower... Start with Aero Im sure you'll be happy...

Thanks Gents. I'll probably go with the Aero.

50CalShooter, my little girl has been shooting for over a year. She got her own pink .22lr Cooey Ace last spring. I want the AR so that I can kill two birds with one stone. Hopefully it will keep the cost of a left hand center fire down a little bit.

Our Shipping rates are
10-15 for small items
30 For pistols (and Ar receiver same size)
60 for all rifles
Local Pickup free

We charge the rates because most of the time it actually ends up costing us a little more or less so we have flat rate to anywhere in Canada. We ship through Canada Post Expedited Service so packages tend to take 2-5 days (5 if you live in the East coast on a small route) If you live in BC delivery usually takes 1-2 days

10-15$ for small parts across the country ... OK.

... but

$30. for a pistol and $60. a rifle anywhere in Canada, especially within your own Province, that's robbery. I'm sure you have a Venture card too. Are you in the firearms business, or delivery business?

They are based out of Tacoma Washington. From what I can tell they also manufacture parts for Boeing. They are the manufacturer for armalite and many spikes lowers.

X2 - $30 will ship a rifle across Canada (usually less, especially if you have a venture one card).

In my opinion, all current makers are good, and it seems that generally everyone now stays within machining tolerances and military material specs.

In the 80's amd 90's Olympic Arms were noted to have problems, but that is in the past.

If a crate of lowers and a crate of uppers are machined to print, all will fit together in any combination, without any individual hand fitting.
