Been trying to use the search function, and I can't seem to find anything on these.

I've got a mid-90s model that's a bit of a safe queen and am trying to gauge the amount of interest that might be out there.

Anyone have any comments (other than "I'll take it off your hands if you ship it to me?")

I'll offer to take you to the range so we can put it through its paces at 100 yards? :yingyang:.....;)

that's not too bad an offer....

i shoot at Burlington and 50 yds is the best they've got.

at the time i bought the 77/22, Browning was selling a limited edition, a version of the Winchester 52. am kinda sorry i didn't get that instead.

this one actually is 22lr, not magnum. lovely gun but it's almost too nice to use! i'll take my 795 instead!

I like my 795. It is like a cheap 10 22, that doesn't suck. Ohhh, did he just say that!?!?!? :p :stirthepot2:

77/22

Mine sold for $500 on the EE. Excellent shape, no issues, clean rifle - a .22LR. I've got another one in the safe. Mine have all been excellent shooters.

The earlier models were very accurate in my experience. I don't know as much about the later production but expect they would be as good. Very good quality, decent shooters, crappy trigger. Priced out of the market, unfortunately. I rate them substantially higher than a CZ in fit, finish, and accuracy.

I bought one of the early ones, circa 1985/6. Spent $30 getting a gunsmith to smoothen out the trigger. It was and is the most accurate shooting .22 rifle I have ever owned, and that includes some heavy barrel "target" rifles. I gave it to my father and he considers it to be the one rifle he will never sell. Says it's going to the grave with him.

Nice gift to your dad- good on ya!

I've actually got a VQ sear sitting next to it- just haven't installed it yet.

My only experience is with a stainless synthetic model. Nothing about it justified the $200 price jump over a CZ. The bolt was clunky, and rougher than my CZ, and the stock fit was terrible. I think I'd rather look at a browning, anchutz etc. though I wouldn't mind checking out a walnut example.

Im taking my 77/22 to the range tomorrow to try it for the first time. I bought someones safe queen for 100 bucks cause they didnt want their firearms anymore. Oh...I got their 6.55x55 Husky for 50 bucks too. I know...I should go to jail for theft:redface:
