... for someone who has smaller hands. I once owned a H&K USP 9mm, but found that it was a bit to big since I have small arse hands. I have handled the cheap Norinco 9mm and it was a much better fit but I want something better. I am sure theirs other cgn'ers out there that suffer from small hands, so what are some of the better pistols for someone with my "condition".

Cheers

The CZ 75 is a good fit for me (average hand but damaged) very often it is length of trigger pull that causes the greatest problem for small hands. Try a few different models for fit and function, i'm sure people at your club will have a variety of types. I have found Gunnar at Armco very helpfull; as a gunsmith he probably can give the best advice if you need any modifications for fit. Email him and ask his advice.

Look into a Browning High Power, but try a 1911 on for size too. Both fit my wide, but short hand nicely. Sadly, the trigger reach on a CZ75 is too long. Would have snapped one up when they first came to Canada, long ago, otherwise.

STI 1911 pistols "hands down";) are excellent for shooters with small hands. They come with standard thin grip panels and they're ergonomically designed to fit small-medium size hands. You can order thick grip panels if your hands are large.

STI Spartan in 9mm

same size as the Norc 1911, so a nice thin frame, but done in 9mm like you want and from what i hear much better quality

a Glock or Sig are probably gonna be too big, the S&W M&P9 would probably be good, and the CZ would be about the same as the STI for size & price

If you liked everything else about your USP other than the grip, you really do owe it to yourself to take a close look at the HK P30 and P30L. The P30 series is the newest evolution and refinement of the HK design philosophy (evolved from the very solid P2000) and honestly have the most customizable grip ever to come on a polymer frame gun. 3 different sized backstraps combined with three thicknesses of interchangeable side grip panels make for a gun that can fit both the tiniest of hands as well as the most mammoth of paws. On top of that, the P30s shoot like a dream.

Go to The Shooting Edge. They have both a P30 and a P30L in stock. Get whoever helps you to grab the case for the gun and pull out all of the interchangeable grip components and play around with it for a bit. I'm sure you will be impressed with how the gun will fit your hand once tuned.

I second the P30 recomendation. The different combinations of grip panels allow it to be comfortable for just about anyone.
I would also suggest the Sig P239 which is a single stack design or if you can wait a bit the Sig P229 E2 should be making their way to Canada soon.
