Finally decided...HK USP 9mm :) - thoughts?

So after a few months of deciding what pistol to get I am now wanting to get a HK USP 9mm in DA/SA and am pretty certain on it. I tried all the main stream pistols on CGN...ie 1911, Glock, CZ and all not bad pistols they are just not for me. Thoughts/opions on the USP?
 
If you have the budget for it,...how about the HK45....really nice grip. Get it with the detent plated that disables the decock function of the lever. (that way, you can carry it cocked and locked=Single action safety on)

I can't really afford to shoot .45 sadly...not enough to get good with it anyways...I am also a 9mm fan through and through
 
I sold my USP in .45, regretted it, and bought a HK45 some time later.

Both are great pistols, but I wouldn't go back to the USP now that I have my HK45. Much more ergonomic for MY hand anyway. Try it - the HK45 is the way to go.

Me personally, I'd be buying a beretta 92fs for 9mm (aside from my glocks I already own). I couldn't own an H&K USP in anything other than .45 It's just such a classic .45 gun
 
I have a USP9 (in fact I'm trying to get rid of it). It's a good rugged pistol and you do get the impression that it would shoot through any kind of abuse but it's definitely a combat pistol. I don't like the size of the grip and the really heavy trigger pull. On the other hand, apparently a different trigger group can just be dropped right in and make the pistol competition ready, as there's a very, very good shooter around here who shoots a USP9 in IPSC Production. The grip is just big hand friendly and I like smaller.

I do like the placement for the slide release and external safety. They are very much like a 1911 in their placement in that you would grip this pistol with you shooting hand on the safety and that the slide release would not interfear with your grip as it does on so many other modern pistols (e.g. Sig).
 
I have the USP Tactical in .45 and I love it. It is deadly accurate, holds 10 rounds and I can shoot it well even with my hands which are on the smaller side. It comes with an adjustable rear sight, and I bought a goofy looking flash suppressor to thread on to the front of the barrel - it looks silly but really reduces the muzzle flip and I like the weight.

Personally, I never got 9mm cast bullets to shoot well for me and you may not want to use cast lead in yours. The manufacturer recommends against them too; if your gun blows up while shooting cast lead your warranty is voided.
 
P30L looks to have a friendlier grip. Have you tried it, WtAF?

It seems just shooting reloads voids the warranty for most firearms.

Where'd you buy your HK45, canucklehead? I had a P30L but then sold that and got an M&P9, but I still like HKs and am in the market for an HK45 but no one in this country seems to have them!
