I've hummed & hawed long enough. I finally got around to ordering a new CZ SP-01 Shadow. I was keeping a eye out for a deal on the EE. The really good deals on the EE disappeared faster than a ice cube on hot blacktop. The others, well I was not willing to pay new price on a used gun (and in some cases, more).

I have already ordered a pair of thin aluminum grips and reduced power mainspring & recoil springs. I will be leaving in the factory hammer in place, at least for now. After talking to a few people about the differences between the factory hammer and competition hammer, the difference is subtle. I will make up my own mind after I have owned it for awhile.

The transfer took three days (that is the longest I have ever waited for a transfer). With a little luck and if Canada Post does their job properly, I should have it in my hot little hands by Monday. I searched across Canada for the best price, $825.00 to my door :).

There's a big difference between the stock 18lb mainspring and the lighter 13#. There's a HUGE difference between trying out your new trigger pull by dry firing at home, and trying it out at the range. Just gave mine a test drive today, and this trigger is incredible. I'm really pleased. You will be too.
If you can, measure the DA and SA trigger pull weights before you install the 13#, then again afterward, and compare the two.

I don't have a trigger pull gauge. On my SP-01 (quasi Shadow), going from the stock #20 mainspring to a #15 then finally a #13 spring, the difference in trigger pull was huge.

If you roll your own ammo, try avoiding CCI primers or your ignition may be less than 100% with 13# main spring. It happened to me only once out of 1K rounds but when you run against the clock (and I did with CZ 75SA gun) you loose precious time..
15# main should give you 100% or extended firing pin, I went with the new pin so I don't have to care what primers I use and still have lighter trigger.

It must be my good looks and charming personality :p.
Is weeks typical for a restricted transfer in Ontario?

unfortunately. My last one only took less than 4 because I pushed it. At three and a half weeks, I finally called the CFO myself and asked what was up. The woman told me my transfer application hadn't even been ASSIGNED for someone to look at yet. She said she'd have it assigned.
It was done the next day by noon, 26 days...

I shoot factory & Combat Masters. I have a #13 mainspring in my SP-01 and no light strikes in thousands & thousands of rounds. Win, Rem, Fed, Blazer, its all good. I haven't tried S&B yet. I'm told their primers are hard.

Not enough staff? Or the squeaky wheel gets the grease? I drive by the BC-CFO office almost every day. Stopping in, saying hello and asking about my transfer(s) may have helped. I don't really know.

LOL.. hummed? Anyone else get the pun? That song... Frank Sinatra.....

Me.... and my shadow....

Like the wallpaper sticks to the wall
Like the seashore clings to the sea
Like you'll never get rid of your shadow
Frank, you'll never get rid of me

Let all the others fight and fuss
Whatever happens, we've got us.

Me and my shadow
We're closer than pages that stick in a book
We're closer than ripples that play in a brook
Strolling down the avenue
Wherever you find him, you'll find me, just look
Closer than a miser or the bloodhound's to Liza
Me and my shadow
We're closer than smog when it clings to L.A.
We're closer than Bobby is to J.F.K.
Not a soul can bust this team in two
We stick together like glue

And when it's sleeping time
That's when we rise
We start to swing
Swing to the skies
Our clocks don't chime
What a surprise
They ring-a-ding-ding!
Happy New Year!

Me and my shadow
And now to repeat what I said at the start
They'll need a large crowbar to break us apart
We're alone but far from blue

Before we get finished, we'll make the town roar
We'll make all the late spots, and then a few more
We'll wind up at Jilly's right after Toot's Shore
Life is gonna be we-wow-whee!
(Here comes the party!)
For my shadow and me!

Say Frank?
What is it, Sam?
Do me a favor?
What do you want, now?
Would you mind taking it, just one more time?
From the top?
No! From the ending!
Wonderful!

And while we are swinging, to mention a few
We'll drop in at Danny's, The Little Club too
But wind up at Jilly's, whatever we do
Life is gonna be we-wow-whee!
(Wow!)
For my shadow and me!

Frank?
Oh, forget it Sam.
