I love where the SKS-D model falls on that list but somehow people think because it'll take an AK mag it's worth 2x -3x more than a Tula refurb
 
Me what i ask to myself why in canada we have plenty of russian/chineese sks and yugo sks are almost nowhere to see here and in the US they have it like rats ...
 
Well with experimental arms going up for sale in the US (See the Savage Enfield post in the milsurp forum) I guess experimental arms are not off the table?

In that case my most desirable SKS would be the 1945 prototypes sent to the 3rd Beylorussian front for field testing. I wonder how many were made and what they looked like.
 
WRT Yugos, there are actually a fair number of them in Canada - just none at retail at the moment. I've sold two unissued Yugo 59/66's and one unissued refurb M59 in the last year and I've seen many more on the EE. Just keep your eyes open.

There are probably now more Russian SKS rifles in Canada than Yugo, but I would not class them as rare.
 
Its interesting that the Chinese pinned barrels are at the bottom of the list for collectors. I have a 1970's something pinned barrel that outshoots everything above on the list (that I own).
 
What about a 1950 Rusian with a spring loaded fireing pin instead of the free floating one.Is it collectable?

If it is original it should have that but then again they switch over in 1950.

I agree with you Yogo SKS quite nice. I ve seen one I think the quality of those always compared to Russian and so back and forth.
I like both equally.
My question Cleven for you how can it be "unissued refurb M59"?
What do you mean by that? Cracked stock?
