Is Norinco still producing the M14 clones?
I am thinking of getting this, "still in cosmoline" one, and want to know if $550 is too much to pay.
It has a, walnut looking, wood stock, and greenish bluing.
I don't know much about these, but have wanted one for awhile now. KD

Get one... read the sticky(ies) and then come to my clinic so that yer #### don't fall off! ha ha ha

I love the new plastic stocks found on the 2009 series. Maybe I should just snag one for myself! :D

Cheers,
Barney

The synth stocks need work IMHO, but once the front ferrule length is fixed, they are pretty decent.

As for whether they are still made, no they are no longer made in that receiver production ended in the 1990's, but new ones are still being assembled in China and shipped to Canada.

To repeat myself for the umpteenth time, search the members list for Different. His real first name is Lee. Surf his profile links to his homepage. You need to find his downloadable M14 book. It is 400+ pages of scholarly goodness. The useful section is his discussion of Chinese rifles and parts.
