Auto indexing and speed. The 650 isn't a great deal more money than the 550 and the auto indexing and case feeder really speeds things up. Place a bullet, pull the handle, place a bullet, pull the handle....
I doubt you can go wrong with the 550 though if you do decide to go that way.

I have one of each. The 650 is dedicated to one caliber (with a case feeder). After 500,000+ rounds it is getting a bit wobbly. Dillon has offered to over-haul it for free.
The 550 has a bunch of tool heads pre-loaded with the dies. I use it for the calbers I only load a couple thousand at a time.
I have not had good luck with priming cases with these presses. The 650 only loads vigin primed cases. The 550 loads cases i have sized on another press and primed on my Lee Auto Prime.
I like the Dillon equipment and found them good peple to deal with. That said, I have had excellent service from Lee, RCBS, etc.
An electicien working on my fuse panel dropped his cirgarette into my Dillon 550 powder thrower. Apparently the 2 pounds of 231 made quite the Roman candle..... I mailed the melted blob of plastic and pot metal back to Dillon with a note that it was "eratic'. They replaced it without commnet or charge. We are blessed with outstanding suppliers.

Strange. I've just loaded 2000 rounds on mine over the last few days and there hasn't been any issues with priming other than one upside down primmer (my fault). None of my brass is virgin.

I have had a 650 for 4 years and it works flawlessly - I have it set up for I think 10 or so calibers (including rifle). I have loaded about 50 to 60 thousands rounds on it (which I hate to admit as I should be able to shoot better) and I have on occasion been able to load 900 to 1000 rounds of 9mm in an hour, but for the most part I keep it at a easy pace around 650 to 700 per hour for 9mm.
It is a great press its versitile, fast, calibre changes are quick and depending on the powder is very accurate.

yep,i love my 650.
get the primer filler RF-100 and the powder checker assembly, adding a security device against possible squibs never hurt , and the RF 100 well, time saving too!
oh!...and i ditched the alu roller handle i ordered with the press, i prefer the stock one.
