Hey guys like the title says looking for feedback on the Vortex Strikefire Red Dot Scope.

I see there is a Red Dot, and then a Red/Green dot. both are the same price so is there a quality loss when u get the combo?
How does it shape up against other red dots in the 150-200 price range?

I've looked down one a couple times and didn't mind it, but wanted to know if anyone had issues with them in the past or had some really good feed back.

I have only ever used scopes in the past but i wanted something for plinking and i already have lots of scoped guns for that.

I will be mounted on a Ruger 10/22 Target Tactical, and will be used for only 25-100 yard plinking.

Thanks in advance.

I have one mounted on my AR. Not a whole lot of experience with it yet, but so far, so good, and for the application you intend, I expect it will be much more than adequate. FWIW.

Best Bang for buck!

I bought a Vortex Strikefire a while ago and mounted it on my Hera Arms GCC. It feels solid and works great! I bought the AR version, with the red and green dot. I was using the bushnell Acog clone on my AR, and finally decided to do a little swap. I put the strikefire on my AR, (and couldn't be happier after yesterdays range trip) and bought the Vortex SPARC and mounted that on my Hera Arms GCC. I am very happy with vortex products so far and cant wait to try out their long range optics. Highly recommended!

I looked through one today and it looked pretty good. I think I'm going to buy a SPARC.

How much and from where did you get the Hera Arms GCC if you don't mind me asking. The Hera Arms looks the best out of all of them in my opinion.

The 10/22 Tactical Target is a pretty accurate gun even out to 100m! Why you would want to put a 4 MOA red dot on one is beyond me? At least the Sparc is 2 MOA, but even still you will be throwing any real accuracy out the window! Not only that but it will look pretty ridiculous if you ask me! At 25m you might be alright, 50m and you will not be able to even see your shots on paper, and at 100m you wont see much of your target. They are combat style sites made for shooting larger targets not hitting bullseyes or popcans past 50m.

If you want something tactical looking and still pretty cheap get a Bushnell Trophy 1-4 x 24 scope! I just picked one up for my AR and was testing it out on my 10/22 Tactical Target and even though it is not as precise as a good 3-9 or the likes it still holds 1/2 inch groups at 50m. Cost $220 and has a 1 MOA illuminated dot, but it really doesnt show the illumination in the daylight.

Well if your not trying for accuracy then it is a good choice, but like I said Id go with the Sparc. Smaller dot should allow some better shooting out further. The Strikefire does look cool though and gets good reviews as well.

Good choice! I just bought one and have only taken it out once but find it way easier to shoot accurately than using the iron sights on my AR. Great optic for the price! Next I plan on picking up a Sparc!

Just so you know the strikefire is not paralax free until 50 yards.if you are shooting closer you could have error.i have one on my cz858 no problems and excellent sight.the paralax is not noticable on the cz but my have an effect on a .22 at close range.i do not have one on my .22 though so i am just reading the specs in manual.

So what kind of groups are you getting at 50 and 100m? LOL

Just for comparison my 10/22 will group an inch or less at 50m. Although I do have the VQ target hammer installed so that prolly helps.

clap clap no one cares.

shoots great and very happy to have it. complain about it if u want but everyone i have talked to that has it likes it.
