MR223/416 uppers.

The 416 uppers are impossible to get your hands on and the rear takedown pin on the MR223 is 6mm off from a standard AR15's...

So to put it bluntly, no

The US market will soon see the the MR556 and the MR556A, and the MR556A was made specifically to be compatible with standard AR15 uppers/lowers..

But since they are marked with 5.56, we probably won't see then up here until the US state dept eases up on the export of their firearms

I sold mine last year for just over $5k. That seems to be the going rate in Canada if one becomes available. Anything more and you are REALLY getting ripped off. Considering the upper kit from HK is only $1600 or maybe less!

I wonder if the bare receiver is available some how as a replacement part. If that were the case, someone could easily swap the parts over from an MR223.

The ability to use standard AR lowers is nice, then you don't have mag fitting issues and a replacement is easily found if required. When it comes to tactical rifles, options is better then no options any day!

My advice, save your money. The rifle was really nice but had some design features that I did not agree with.

- Non standard top rail height
- Proprietary Handguards
- Rear loading piston (requires removal of handguards to clean)
- 10.4" weighs as much as most 16" DI rifles
 
yep... $5k to $6k is the range. But people will always try to get more and some people will even pay more.

1. Not a problem with non-standard (HK-specific) optic mounts, ie: LaRue.
2. Yes, but it's an easy system to disassemble.
3. Can't argue anything there.
4. Yes - it feels like handling a Swiss Arms. :)
