Semi Auto SG751 SAPR HA im Kal. .308Win. Lauf 365mm, Dralllänge 11 Zoll, Magazin Kapazität 20 Schuss, klappbarer Kolben, Tactical 4-Rail Handgurd.

Fr. 5469.-

Looks like I have to go over and have a look.

Ouch. That's not cheap. I hope it has a good warranty for that price. It'd suck to get a 5.5k lemon and no service.

any idea why they gave up the stamped steel lower? The weight difference can't be that much.

I don't know why they decided to go with black mags either. There was a reason all of the other SG 550 mags were transparent.

Between this and stopping test targets on all their rifles there is a lot of bad decisions being made by swiss arms lately.

Translation:

Test targets for Stgw90.

The demand on our marksmen regarding test targets for the Stgw90 has in the last while taken on unachievable dimensions.
In discussions with our gunsmiths and in our own experiences, groupings of "normal" 100 point shot groups with a spread of 6 to 7 cm have become expected and given this standard rifles are not being graded as accurate enough.
As you know the ammunition tolerances alone clearly overstep these expectations.
As of now all PE90's and replacement barrels will be delivered without test targets.
All rifles are still shot from machine and shoulder.
All warranties will of course remain unchanged.

They went away from steel for a lower to save weight. Endurance testing showed the alum. lower performed brilliantly. On color of .308 mag, I can't comment why it's more of a black but they are still see through (ones I handled anyways).

The catalogue is old and wrong. The guns will be made in 16" and 12.5" barrels. Plans were to cut some barrels to 18.5" for us here in Canada. In accuracy testing they were finding that the 16" barrels were outshooting the 20" barrels so the 20" was dropped (kind of like the new LMT and KAC guns shooting amazing with 16" barrels). Quality, fit and finish on the new guns is every bit as good as the older guns, it not better.

Expensive but very nice weapon and hopefully non-restricted.

KDX thanks for the spelling correction Otis muchly appreciated.now on to the matter of the SAPR quailty it is like comparing automobiles the SAPR equates to a Bentley and the XCR M has the all the quaility of a Yugo and custmer service and product development to match. Like I said you buy quaility once . Looks like the SAPR is out on the market ahead of RA wanna be XCR M entry into the MBR non restricted playing field . I don't think it is suppposition that SA builds quailty firearms , However believing that RA produces a quaility firearm now that is supposition given there stellar track record with thier product line

lol

Did someone at RobArms touch you in a bad place when you were little?

RobArms is a good low quality, non-restricted plinking gun that will probably break down in hard use or need replacement parts. I still like them, they are just a bit too expensive for their level of quality. I don't mind paying premium prices for Kit / Guns, I just want them to be good and not just range / plinking guns.

If Fr. 5469 is Swiss Francs then 5,469.00 CHF = 5,591.69 CAD. Shamwow.

It's not going to be cheap, but on the same webpage that lists the SAPR for 5469 CHF, there is a Benelli MR1 for 2920 CHF. The MR1 is under $2000 in Canada.

As others have said, if a non-restricted (18.55") SAPR makes its way into Canada, i'm going to do my best to pick one up. A few really high quality guns in the safe outweigh a pile of mediocre ones in my opinion.
