Has anyone bedded the Savage Accu-Stocks?

When you bed the action how do you bed around the recoil lug while still maintaining the ability to tighten the v-block?

Are you guys bedding the recoil lug solid and leaving the v-block out or just bedding up to the recoil lug?

Thanks in advance

I thought the whole purpose of the accustock is that it already came from the factory bedded with the accustock aluminum bedding block? Am I wrong, or is there more that can be done? I'm new to the whole bedding thing, so I'm curious.

While the bedding block is an improvement it is not the be all and end all of stocks.....

Just like when you buy an HS or McMillan..... They need to be bedded as well.

How to do it...... It's hard to say what level of bedding you require.

For me I'd just do the recoil lug as IMHO that is all there is left to do if you have a alluminum chasis that is suppporting the entire action. I pretty much feel the same way when you have pillars in the stock.

Cheers!

The accustock is a wonderful concept that got royally screwed up in production.

It actually has MORE issues then even the HS chassis.

Yes, I bed them and Yes, you want to bed them with all the care and attention of any other stock.

I do make it so the recoil lug tab is functional.

The accustock is more work to get bedded then other inletting styles.

im new to bedding, can you give me a link or point me in the right direction ti bed the accustock? Also what do you charge and what's the length to get this done?

Thanks for that Jerry! The wife and I are looking for her first precision platform and I think I'll pass on the accustock... Just to throw it out there, an action with pillars also still needs the recoil lug bedded IMO.
