I have been told that there is crown land in peterborough but I have never been able to find it and can not locate it on that horrible map thing they have online for finding crown land, can someone give me some locations of crown land in or around peterborough?

That map sucks.
Can't tell even what the pins point to on my monitor.
One I can identify is "Peterborough Crown Game preserve" ... NO HUNTING!
The OFAH tried to get that changed a few years back, and thousands of deer starved to death that winter, because the antis blocked it.

Be careful with maps like this, there will be small patches of private land within the crown.

There are some logging roads that a friend takes me hunting for grouse on around 45 minutes or an hour north of peterborough near buckhorn or something like that. I'll ask him where it is.

Alright thanks guys and IK the map sucks ass prob gonna go down the street and just see if the MNR head office has some decent maps i can buy

hey 49er. I've been looking at google maps to try and identify where I went hunting, and if I remember correctly, we went way up buckhorn road, on to 507? I just remember there was a gas station, and then there is a logging trail on the left hand side of the road. I'm hoping someone here knows the spot and can give you better directions (And me, since I probably wont be hunting with that fella this year)

I think you're talking about Flynn's Corners. As far the crown land, I don't know, I didn't think there was any in that area.

I'm thinking it was in the provincial park.
Kawartha Highlands park is on the right side of 507, ie: EAST. So is a native reserve, near the south end of 507.
If you went west, you were likely up one of the "fire roads", or the ATV/snowmobile trail.
Usually, they are on crown, but some do cross both private, and leased land.
There are some private roads on both sides as well, so watch yer step.

I think my post was poorly worded. There was an intersecting road with a gas station that we went right on, and then we turned left into a gravel road to park where a atv type trail began.

At this rate I think it may be faster and easier to purchase a small piece of land somewhere with some friends and hunt it.

est of 507north of bobcaygeon to gooderham has thousands of acres of crown we atv camp and hunt them every year . pm me your email and I will give you parking areas and try to show maps

There's crown land on both sides of the 507 north of flynns corners but lots of private land as well. The Kawartha Highlands signature site (provincial park) is open to hunting after sept first and can be accessed from 507 or hwy 28. There is also some crown land surrounding the crown game preserve north of notheys bay road off hwy 28. Message me if you want some clear details.

There is 25 acres for sale about 15 minutes east of Ptbo. WMU 73. No good for building, but loaded with deer and turkeys and the odd bear. Heavy cedar swamp and some hardwoods. I think they are asking 55K.

3 month bow season, 2 week shotgun season, 1 week ML season.

It is surrounded by other private land.

Fishy, You took highway 507 north of Flynns corners towards gooderham about 8-10 km. Turn left onto the forest access road for Parnells Quarry and the parking let is to your immediate right. The parking lot is used as a snowmobile drop site for the OFSC trail in winter and the trails run from there. I believe almost all of that is crown land. Good luck.
