SKS Aftermarket Stocks

as it turns out, and only by the urging of some good friends, i am developing a couple composite stocks for the SKS.
i've been hesitant as there is obviously some VERY affordable options out there..... and some may not see what i will "possibly have to offer" as being affordable when compared to the tapco and ATI products.

any thoughts from the red rifle crowd?
custom composite dragunov inspired stock?
AR furniture compatable stock?
pricing ballpark would have to be in the couple to three hundy range....... but they wouldn't be made of plastic :D instead a blend of carbon fiber and fiberglass..........

whaddya think?

I am thinking pretty hard here on how to justify spending the same amount of money on a stock as I did on a whole rifle. That said, the AR platform kind of tweeks the old gonads.....

Think of it this way, if Russian SKS's were no longer imported, as is now the case in the US and the value went up to $400-$500 for a nice example, as they are in the US, would you think differently? Its hard to believe in a world where "you get what you pay for" that there are any "good deals" left, but the SKS is definitely a rare example of a "good deal". I have a few SKS's, and one of them wears a Tapco stock and a metal 5/30 magazine (but easily put back back to original form), and I have to admit to absolutely loving how it looks, how it feels, how it peforms on the range, and how bloody durable it is!

I'd take a look. It would have to be a superior product which it sounds like that is what you are going for.

People dump a lot of money into stocks for their cheap(price wise) m305s
So I'd assume they would as well for the SKS. Not me, as I'd rather buy another sks.

AR compatible and made from durable materials, not injection molded junk?

Yes please!

I only paid $75 for my Chinese SKS, so any accessory I get will be priced more than the rifle.

no injection molding going on over here ;)
every stock produced is made by human hands, from premium modern materials including carbon fiber and fiberglass.
I'm a ways from having the prototypes done but as i said, I'm making a few at the request of some friends so when those are done, I'll post some pics. if i make one..... i can make a 100 or more hehehe
