So, I have been pestering my fellow CGNers for info as I have been putting my scoped M14 together. I thought I should update you so you know that all of your patient advice has not been for nothing.

It is almost all done... I am just missing a bipod. I have the stud, and will be inletting my Poly stock and installing it shortly.

I couldn't resist any longer - so I took my almost completed rifle to the range yesterday... and the results were far better than expected.

These are the ONLY modifications I have made to my rifle so far:

- Tacpro cheek riser (a MUST, if you are scoping your M14)
- Bushnell Elite 3200 10x fixed power scope
- Marstar deluxe scope mount - lock tited and secured to the (now removed) stripper clip guide mount
- Leupold Rifleman 1 inch low scope rings

Here are pics of my set up (sorry - cell phone pics):

I was shooting IVI surplus at 100m.

Since I don't have a bipod yet, I was shooting of a bench, using the 20 round magazine as a support and resting the front of the stock on my rifle case.

Here are my first ten rounds. I fired the first one... way low and left ... adjusted the scope.. two more ... still low and to the left. (I then realized i was adjusting for half-mil clicks instead of the 1/4 mil clicks that the scope uses)

I adjusted my scope - and shot 2 more from that mag... reloaded and shot five more. Not too shabby. That`s not too bad for a $450 rifle with a $200 scope.

You can order the riser from TACPRO on here. I have one and I love it. Very light and well made.

Nice shooting Pierrody and the rifle looks good. Are you going to paint the stock?
