So here's the thing, took my gun off safe and fired the first shot, reloaded and went to fire the second shot but the accutrigger was rock solid, worked the bolt again and same thing. Took out the mag and emptied the chamber and nothing appeared out of place. Put the mag back in and fired off the last round of the mag without a problem.

Now here's the thing, if the gun is on safe the SILVER trigger will still depress but the actual trigger will not.

My problem was even the silver trigger part of the accutrigger was rock solid and would not depress. I can see nothing wrong with the gun and I've only out about 40 rounds through it.

If yourtrigger is set lite and you close the bolt fast it will decock, with the firearm unloaded you can simulate this problem. Just close slower or adjust trigger? Plain and simple its a good trigger installed by a Lawyer!!!

Thank you! I will set it abit higher then!

I have the same "problem" with my Savage Palma.
The options you have:
1. Close the bolt really slowly.
2. Push the bolt ahead as fast as you want, but do not push it down. Pull the safety back. Push the bolt down as fast as you want. Push the safety forward. Trigger works. This is a dance around the problem, and it is annoying like hell. But there are situations when you need to get going. You do this only if you want to keep the very light trigger weight.
3. Increase the trigger weight, and it won't happen again.

i had the same problem with my precision carbine-had to take it apart and set the trigger higher-seemed to work but i only fired another 20 rounds since the adjustment. Rain seems to be a way of life here now in saskabush.

Wow...that is light from the factory.

I thought it was a fantastic trigger....until I realized it wouldn't work.
I guess someone at the factory thought they would give someone a sweet trigger or they wanted to piss off the customer.

At least I know it can go really light, I just have to close the bolt slow and light.

Many times +1 on the above advice to slow down bolt action. One day at the range, I had two different people unable to fire my Savage F/TR due to bolt handling, while I had no trouble because I understood how it worked.

When you think of it, Savage made the target trigger to be a very light trigger (obvious man strikes again) but the accutrigger design is such that ANY movement outside of the design parameters is deemed to be potentially unsafe, so the trigger will not release. Many of us think this is a design feature, others consider it a design flaw.

Whichever camp you join is up to you, and I doubt that it is worth one breath to argue this point with anyone. I ended up adding more weight to my trigger so that other people could shoot the rifle. LCD

My Ftr would do this when you were rough closing the bolt with the trigger set at around 6oz-8oz, I moved it up to about 1-1.5 lb and never had an issue after that. Small price to pay for the accuracy achieved with a good Savage rifle, The best factory trigger Ive ever encountered.
