Using peanut butter for deer bait ?

I tried it a couple of years ago. I had my game-cam set up overlooking the tree I smeared it onto.

The deer never even sniffed it! It eventually got washed away by the snow/rain after 3 months.

Back to the only reliable/ cost effective attractant...APPLES.

i've tried it a couple of years back. screwed the cap to a tree, screwed the jar back on the cap with a hole at the bottom and watched the squirrels perched on top of the jar and eat all the peanut butter in two or three days. also watched a few does with there fawns walk by about 10 yards away from the jar, put their nose in the air to sniff and walk away from it.
that was my result and never tried again.

WOW!
Is that ever a ###y....goldplated shootin iron!!!!

Did someone spread peanut butter on that gun??? Hmmmmmmmm!

I put peanut butter on a tree in front of a trail camera once and it didn't seem to attract any deer.

But once is never enough.

I used apples in front of my outdoor camera and theres tons of deer there all the time. and racoons....they both feed on the apples at the same time.

The place I hunt is covered with apple tree, there is about 200 apple tree visible from my tree stand, for me it seem useless to try with apple, so thats why i was asking about peanut butter. ( there is tons of deers and tons of apple...) but since im bow hunting, I need a little bait to make them stop and eat where I want.
