I just purchased an Alberta Tactical Rail off a gentleman from the EE and was wondering if anyone else had any experience with them. It is going on my Nork. From the pictures he sent me it looks like it is very well put together.

He said they are very easy to put on however I have never changed anything out on an M4 so I was wondering if anyone had any advice. Thanks Guys.

P.S. I also figured putting some Canadian Parts on the gun make up somewhat for buying Chinese. It also is coming with a KAC Vert Grip. The panels on the rail are green so I am gonna have to get a green grip to match as I had the gun all black before. lol. :)

Good price. I am thinking of longer, and cutting off the top of the FSB. Anybody do this, with good results?

Its slightly used but from the pics it looks to be in great shape! Just waiting for it to get to my door as I paid for it today so it wont' go out til monday.

With regards to the sight. Cant you just use a punch and take it off? Why cut off the top of the Front sight? Just curious. Sounds like you have an idea and when done make sure to include pics :)

the ATRS is not a free float rail, so your plan jdman will not work... it is more of the m4 style KAC RAS. ie: non freefloat

great piece of kit though and from the one I had everything is within spec as far as rail spacings and such.

good luck and let me know. I wouldn't mind eventually removing the front sight and getting folding backup sights as I think they look cool. Right now I have it setup stock and I switch between my burris 3-9x40 scope with a riser which helps get that sight out of the way without removing it :D.

Good luck with the project. What are you going to use to remove it? Dremel with a cut blade or something bigger? Just be careful, Im sure you will. I am just overly cautious the last few weeks after cutting the crap out of my thumb with an exacto. I thought I lost the side of it but the nail saved it and the doctors were very nice. Sorry for getting off topic that was non gun injury but have been very cautious still with anything sharp or fast moving as fingers don't grow back. Thankfully it wasn't my trigger finger, but then again I cut that the same week. Maybe I should just stick to guns. lol.

I also got a KAC vert grip for it so it should be pretty nice. Not really into Tacticool but after holding a gun with the vertical grip my mind was changed. No flashlights, lasers, phasers or grenade launchers thought, well maybe eventually a spikes grenade launcher if I ever rustle up 400 bones. lol. For some reason those look crazy on the m4

I dont have the Nork M4, but an M4 none the less.

I took the FSB OFF
Cut the sight and bayo lug off
Grinded it with a angle grinder
Painted it with VTH or something, engine paint from Canadian Tire.
Baked it in the oven as per paint instructions.
Reinstalled the cut gas block.
Installed a 12" Free float rail over it. (Midwest Industries)

Cheaper then buying a new gas block, and it was a little fun too.

Here is what 12" rail on an M4 14.5" barrel looks like.

Good luck on your project
