#### hit the fan CZ Rusted barrel

well boys I forgot to clean my Cz 858 before I left from my trip I got back and yup friggen rust.

Ideas for the barrel ?

any good solvents to remove rust hoppies #9 ? I tried wd40 and I am about to use some steel whool to.

going to heat up the barrel with a head gun then use the steelwool coated in clr or wd40

Ya i have the same issue with mine , no matter how i clean it oil it , still ends up rusting getting to the point of selling it now , gotta enjoy corrosive ammo ...

Shoot the damn thing. Then get yourself a bore snake. Makes cleaning the bore a very quick process.

Ditto on G-96, great stuff and smells good too! Not exactly a rust remover but after I hose off my guns in the shower I just spray them with G-96 and throw them back in the safe. They never rust.

I accidentally let my SKS rust up pretty bad once and now you can never tell it ever had that cancer. I chucked up a bore brush in a drill on slow speed and used a rust removal paste to get the crap out (barrel wasn't rusted due to the chrome lining but the gas tube and receiver were pretty bad), followed by lots of G-96 and patches. Not a HINT of rust on it anymore and I don't worry about it. These are military arms, meant to be kicked and abused, not $3K safe queens that see a box of ammo a year.

this will remove the rust ? or just cover it ? I been letting the bore soak in wd 40 like you can see the rust mostly around the rifling.
