I did some searching but could not find out if this version of the XCR is available in Canada in .223?
Please forgive my ignorance but how would bringing in that version of the XCR make ALL of the XCR's restricted ?
The theory is that since you don't really need a gunsmith to swap the barrels, the gun can go back and forward between categories. The Firearms Act is so poorly written that going from an 18.5 to a 12 requires you to inform the CFC "within 30 days" so what happens if you put the 12 on to go shooting but store the rifle with an 18.5 installed. You've effectively caused a real problem for the entire of humanity, because we have statistics that prove semi auto rifles with barrel lengths less than 18.5 inches cause their owners to kill babies, pregnant women, and furry cats (after, of course, sacrificing blood to Baal and profaning whichever official language the owner is less competent in). So you see, it's vital that we keep Robarms barrels shorter than 18.5" long out of the country.
By this "Theory" all T/C Contenders and all T/C Encore's should be restricted as well. You can buy a short barrel and pistol grip over the counter for them.

Yup, that's why all the Swiss Arms rifles and Robarm M96's are restricted now.I hope so too .Downside is that all XCR's may be reclassified as restricted if the upper and lowers interchange between the XCR rifle and the XCR CQB

I seriously doubt that. They would need either an act of parliament or an OIC to do that. Reclassifying them all as prohib on the other hand...
Considering a SIG 552
Silly question, but....
Isn't SG552 considered to be a variant of SG550 and thus you need a 12.5 license for one?
