RUAG swiss 223 ...

the 63 gr is not accurate, it WAS sold to me as GP90 at TSE though, I bought 2K rounds of it thinking it was GP90, Will keep it though as it shoots well in other 223's so its not a waste but I will say with 100% certainty the salesman mislead me.

Knowing some of the guys there, I'm pretty sure they didn't mislead you intentionally - simply a lack of product knowledge.

Couldn't agree more, that's why I am not pissed. Considering .223 ammo is not easy to come by, happy to keep it.

Other than the ruag I have purchased at TSE I have never seen the GP90 in stock in the store ever, been there several times. Hornady tap and match, yes, not the Ruag Match or GP90 though

You are Wrong.

Actually, I'm right;)

The GP-90 has been sold out for several years. It only came in the GP-90 ammo cans, and was I believe, brought in for trails with guns to be sold to mil. & government agencies. That stuff was (and is for the lucky few that held onto extra cans :)) match grade.

The stuff you bought in the cardboard and foil packets is not (to my knowledge) GP-90.

This is GP-90 at work:
First 6 rounds were slow rate, and the following 6 were fired in 20 seconds.

That is what my groupings look like at 25 yards with the white pack crap, would have loved to get some gp90. sold the classic green due to the ruag 223 not working worth crap.

RUAG 'Swiss Ordnance' 63gr. Ball ammo on the left v. GP-90 on the right
Aside from the packaging, once out of the boxes, the ammo looks identical on the stipper clips, until you strip one of each off...

Bottom of the case showing the SO 63gr. on the left with a 'T' and '223' for a head stamp v. the GP-90 on the right with a 'T' and '94' for a headstamp

Aside from the headstamp, comparing the two rounds, the crimp is slightly deeper and wider on the SO stuff, but the primers, primer sealant and crimp used on the primers look identical, as does the annealing on the case.
Just eyeballing the two, I suspected the ogive was slightly sharper (more of a secant design) on the SO stuff compared to the GP-90, but after putting the not-so-scientific callipers to the two, I can see no measurable difference.
A couple of years ago Sierra did a slight re-do of the 69gr. SMK design, so it wouldn't suprise me if they have modified this ever-so-slightly.

When I get more time, I'll rip some apart to look for any other changes.
I suspect that other than consistancy they are near identical.
