Hey all,

I have been shooting all different types of guns for years.

One thing I have never tried though is cowboy. So first I want to pick up a "cheap" replica peacemaker and try it out..... see if I like it.

So, starting fresh, what are the thoughts on Chapperal? $375 for a pistol? (Cheapest pistol I will have in my collection)

Is it worth 375? Is there some other names I should look at? (and if so who are vendors for that new name?)
I would like to stay in canada with all my dealings also.

And to top it off...... leather...... I see marstar sells some cheap leather (But out of stock) Anyone else in Canada that can help with "starter leather"?

Thanks for the help guys!

I've handled and shot a pair of Chaparrals in .357mag and thought they weren't bad at all. They are a little light for my taste I bought Ruger Vaqueros. The girl that owns the Chaparrals loves them.
As for leather Cabela has some stuff at very reasonnable price, but it'll be more than $19.00
Just a suggestion, why don't you just head to a match if you can find one near you, Cowboys will be happy to let you handle their guns and even shoot a few rounds. That way you can see for yourself what you might like and I think when you meet the people you'll have an even better sense of CAS and what it's really about.
Just my $00.02.

I agree completely. Also, they'll likely have local contacts of holster makers that the "group" uses. See the leather rigs the locals use and ask where they got them and if they've had any problems.

Or, check out laroche leathers. One of the guys in my group likes his work a lot and praises him, mentioning an under two week turnaround and the the fact that he got EXACTLY what he wanted.

I also have used Laroche and he is great to work with. By all means give Joe a call and he will do it up right for you.

These are my tools; Puma M92 by Rossi .357mag, IGA Coach gun Supreme 12ga and a pair of NM Ruger Vaqueros in .357mag.

The rig was made in Pensyivania by George Livingston G&J Leather

I bought it all over a 10 month period there wasn't any local clubs that I knew of. Then this spring I found out there was a few places whithin a 2 hour drive and off I went, the rest is history. Now my bride is starting to get into it. I guess it means buying more guns:D:D
