Don't know about better. More a matter of personal taste. I like Mod. 70s. The big Ruger is good for Lotts and Rigbys but too big for the H&H. The African 375 Ruger is small and very nice. The Alaskan is super deluxe once you change the stock.

I went to Epps last weekend convinced I was coming home with a Model 70 Safari Express. After getting there and having the chance to fondle them both I came home with a CZ550. It just seemed to come up to the shoulder alot more naturally. Also I found on the Mod 70, to aim with the open sights I had to mash my face into the side of the stock.

I've always wanted a Mark 2 Magnum in either the Lott or Rigby. The only thing that has given me pause is the price. Ouch!! The Model 70 seems much more reasonably priced, but unfortunately Winchester doesn't offer it in the Lott or Rigby and I've already got an H&H. I might just have to keep dreaming until I save 2500 for the Ruger! The CZ is beautiful, but I don't want a 25" pipe. I like my big bores as short as possible. HMMM, maybe on that note I should consider the new 416 Ruger?

You can chop your barrel like I did to my BRNO 602 or if you are willing to go to the "new king" .375 Ruger, you can go with a Ruger Alaskan.

I like the express sights on the CZ/BRNO's. My 100 yard leaf shoots dead on to POA at 100yards with 270gr ammo and off a front rest, shoots 2" groups with the iron sights.

Express sights rule!

The Ruger RSM is a bit beefy for a 375 but makes it a pussycat to shoot. I would opt for the Winchester because, personally, I'd like a stainless synthetic medium-large rifle. I've already got a 9.3x62 and 416 Rigby but both are blued and walnut.

I thought the new FN M70's only went up to 338 in the stainless synthetic, or are you talking about an older M70 "classic" stainless?

Voted Winchester
If canadian lefty had'nt sold me his lh Winchester I would probably have a 375Ruger now.
The Ruger Mk2 might be a better built gun ,it has some nice custom features.
It is a bit of a pig compared to the 375 Hawkeye or a pre 64 mod 70, IMO.
