Just came back from the range with my 597 vtr after those two upgrades and holy ####. 350 rounds without a single failure, this is now my favorite gun lol. if anyone is sitting on the fence about changing these out, go do it now!!!

Can someone try to explain how changing the trigger can be the best mod to a gun? it still goes bang with a crappy trigger, how does changing it make it all that much more fun?

I guess it's like people with short throw shifters, everyone says they are the best mods but can cost $250+ - which is why I have never had one!

We changed the extractor and hammer. The Volquartsen extractor is a very sharp and harder than the factor extractor. It eliminates failure to extract (FTE). The hammer reduces the trigger pull. Before installing the hammer and extractor, about 5,000 rounds I started noticing more FTE's and then after 10,000 rounds I had lots of FTE's. With the new hammer and extractor, I can pull the trigger as fast as I want and have no FTE's. This mod only cost $18 for the extractor and $38 for the hammer from Rimfire Sports.

Changing the trigger workings makes it easier and more consistant to shoot resulting in being more accurate which makes it more satisfying. I changed the hammer in my 597 Custom Target and it made a huge difference in operation, accuracy and reliability. It still does not like ammo using the Stinger length cases, 70% FTF, Rims thicker?

Oh, well I shot 450 rnds through my SR22 and I only had 1 FTF shooting as fast as I could with no issues ... so that would explain why it wouldn't make sense to change right now

I use 30rd banana mags 4 of em. 10 rd mags barely ever fail. Try it with banana mags..

Ive shot maybe four of those federal bulk pack through ( 2200 rounds) mine since the upgrade and i cannot remember any FTF or anything going wrong. Defiantly a worthy upgrade. Make the trigger pull less as well
