Berry’s 45-70 350gr CMJRN in a Marlin Guide gun

I reloaded some Berry's 350gr CMJRN in 45-70. At the maximum length (2.550") required for a Marlin lever they wouldn't chamber. It seems the nose is a little wider on these bullets. The maximum length that would fit is 2.500-2.520". I went with the 2.460 and had no problem feeding or chambering them. I'm currently using these bullets for light loads so there is still plenty of room for powder.

Has anyone else tried these bullets in a Marlin guide gun and had this issue.

Thanks in advance,
M

My rounds chamber the best at around 2.480-2.490 . Sometimes when I bump it out to 2.550 to meet the groove and the rounds will chamber a little sloppy.

Have you made a chamber cast? I have lots of freebore in mine.
