My Archangel Kit has Arrived UPDATE: Final Parts In Build Complete

My Archangel kit came today! :p As usual you have to take everything you read online with a grain of salt.

I have read how some people call it a piece of plastic garbage while others love it.

So far I am on the love it side! Better quality than I was expecting. I figured for a .22 I didn't need it to be built to the greatest standards but I was pleasantly surprised.

This thing even comes with the QD mount sling holes that fit my QD swivel perfectly. The holes even have the groove inside for the little ball bearings on the swivel to lock into place. I guess I don't have to worry about how to mount a single point sling on my Archangel for a Rimbine shoot. Very pleasant surprise! :D

Too bad I am still waiting on some parts! My Archangel kit was sent from BC five days ago and it arrived here today. My other parts are coming from Quebec but they are not here yet and they were sent four days ago! :mad: I guess as many people can attest, Canada Post works in mysterious ways.

I do have my barrel, receiver and sights so I will get those all on the kit either tonight or tomorrow and post some pics! :D

I guess my muzzle brake (just for looks of course as recoil on a .22 is practically non-existant), AR carry handle scope mount, and other goodies will arrive Monday. :(

Got my kit together tonight. Still waiting for some parts but she's looking good so far. 27" with the stock fully collapsed.....

That thing looks awesome! I really like how there is a short handguard compared tp my sr22, and the carry handle makes it resemble big brother that much more - good job

LOL...It's on my list. I also have a couple of other long guns in the safe that wouldn't fit on my wall so I am going to extend the pegboard on the other side of the room. :) Would love to put my restricteds on display but I am not sure my room would pass for open storage of restricteds.

This winter all I am going to use for any type of action shooting at my outdoor club is my G17 with the .22 conversion on it and my Archangel 10/22. No need to look for casings in the snow plus I will build up my reloaded ammo supplies over the winter! :D

I painted mine with Krylon Fusion black paint. Came out really nice. Now if I can find some tan paint I'll do some more. A 16" fluted Dlask barrel should be here soon, with a Levang compensator. Oh yeah, and a Volquartsen V block. Not really worried about barrel droop, I personally can't see how it would, they are in there pretty good. Hopefully.

how is the paint holding up with you actually using the mags? I imagine it would wear off pretty fast

I am waiting for more parts for my final completion as well. Fun isn't it? :D

It's not the barrel that droops as you are right it's in there good. It's the surrounding forend that makes the barrel look like it's either drooping or pointing up if it's not installed correctly.

While you are installing the six top mounting screws and the two front ones you have to go around evenly on all eight.

If you tighten the top six first the barrel will look like it's pointing up and if you tighten the front two first it will look like it's drooping.
