My Archangel Kit has Arrived UPDATE: Final Parts In Build Complete

Got my kit together tonight. Still waiting for some parts but she's looking good so far. 27" with the stock fully collapsed.....

Your open sites will not work in that configuration, the front site is gas block height & too tall, Good if you use the standard bbl & cheesy front mount. You need a rail height one. PM me if you need one. I usually mount a handle rail kit for a scope or red dot. Those guns are crazy accurate!

This one has the tall front site on still.

Well I decided to try it yesterday. Only at a 25m indoor range mind you, but I got it to sight in dead on the bull's eye. Maybe my carry handle is higher than yours or maybe it's just because I was doing this at 25m. I will try it out at my outdoor club on Wednesday with all my new parts as well. :D

BTW I love this setup!!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration! :dancingbanana:

how is the paint holding up with you actually using the mags? I imagine it would wear off pretty fast
Does not wear off at all. Just make sure it's cleaned good and use this particular paint which is made for basically plastic materials. It bonds right in. Makes the stock a very nice black. I used mat, but it comes in gloss also. If I find tan or similar I'll paint some parts in tan. Krylon is a great paint, dries fast and doesn't run, even painted my (sold..sigh) harley with it. :D

Great, I hope you are shooting 1 hole groups with that thing like the rest of us. Post a pic when shes finished.

I am waiting for more parts for my final completion as well. Fun isn't it? :D

It's not the barrel that droops as you are right it's in there good. It's the surrounding forend that makes the barrel look like it's either drooping or pointing up if it's not installed correctly.

While you are installing the six top mounting screws and the two front ones you have to go around evenly on all eight.

If you tighten the top six first the barrel will look like it's pointing up and if you tighten the front two first it will look like it's drooping.

Right on. I learned something new today. Just came in the mail today. I'll wait for the Volquartsen V block. Thanks for the info.:D

Pretty much! Accurate at h$ll. Wish I could shoot like that with a handgun! :D

I changed my setup and put my carry handle back on my M4 with a scope on it. Put a short fat forend grip on both my M4 and Archangel. Now my rear BUIS is too low for the front flip up. I put a Yankee Hill muzzle brake on it. That wasn't easy with the crush washer! I stuck a good quality Aimpoint clone I had on the Archangel with a real LaRue mount but can't co-witness so I bought some Midwest Industries back up sights. As soon as they get here my Archangel will finally be complete!

Ok here are some pics of the latest changes. Some of the switches may not look the best but I feel they are the best combo I have right now for practical use and aesthetics.

These are in the mail for the Archangel for it to be complete.....

The Archangel as I am going to leave it except for the addition of the above BUIS which should co-witness nicely. Excellent fake Aimpoint on real LaRue mount...

My M4 scoped co-witnessed with iron sights...

My Roni with a fake but so far awesome Acog on. Believe it or not the back up sights on top actually work...

Don't knock me! When I actually make it to the range I have lots of fun!! :D

nice - do you have a better pic of your dlask barrel and flash hider, its tough to see what it looks like where it meets!

I tell you, that muzzle brake(not flash hider for the 10th time) was a pain to put on. It comes with a crush washer and also has to be indexed so the closed section points to the ground....

Ditto on the Flash hider

I had the same problem, nothing would line up with the flash hider. Had to file it down a bit to get it to line up properly. Good to hear about the fake acog though. I had a Chinois fake Aimpoint on mine that was crap. Fought and fought to get it to zero in and than the other day it blew apart. Oh well... Where did you get the Facog? Torn between one of those or the Nc Star MkIII Rubber armored 3-9 x42

I took a chance and just cranked on the wrench until I got it to index. Only problem is I don't see me taking that thing off ever!

I finally got my Midwest Industries BUIS! Got the red dot to line up with the top of my front MI sight and picture is clear from the back iron sight to the front! Now just have to get it to the range to sight it in. That's it, I am done, no more modifying this .22....
