Rifle fully dissasembled, easy to field strip but the locking lever at the rear to unlock the cover is very hard to move! Very well made rifle, parts fit very nicely, high tolerances of manufacture

Gas system is well designed

Bolt details, the firing pin is 2 pieces type, mean that was replaced. However, the firing pin spring is broken, still work but i have a new firing pin and spring in the mail so i will probably replace them.

I'm very pleased with my rifle. After careful examination, we can appreciate the machining on the FN49. The rifle show high quality of manufacture. This was not a cheap rifle to produce, those where costly to make but they seem's built like tank! I will probably use some tung oil on the stock to protect it while keeping the military look. 1 of the buttplate screw dont hold anymore so i will drill and put an insert to have the screw work again. After those little repair, i will buy somes brass and 150gr bullets and reloading dies to make some ammo for the beast:D Thankyou for looking:)

Very nice indeed! I had the oppurtunity at one, but sadly it had a bubba'd stock and the front sight ears were gone, along with the handguard band, If it looked like this one I would have snactched it in a second

"...Show signs of use..." The Egyptians are known for being kind of rough with their issue rifles. Not as bad as the Sudanese though. The Sudanese AR-10's that came through the shop, long ago, still had part of the desert in them.
Free .pdf FN49 user's manual is here. Same manual for all chamberings. Note the need for the provided UN & PW.

Nice, I have one that I got from albayo on CGN, "He did not mention that the stock was cracked all to #### though" So it's currently in the smiths getting THREE big significant cracks repaired.. OVER TO YOU ALBAYO... Anyhow I did take it to the range and it consistantly hit the 6" gong at 100m. Pretty accurate. Pics soon

I have one, it blew up on me, nearly killing me. The firing pin jams forward and will strike the primer before the battery is locked.

Get a two pc firing pin

I still have brass shrapnel in my hands and nerve damage in my thumbs.

Yours have the 1 pc firing pin? Mine has 2 pc one and i have also a new 1 with a new spring in the mail. Sorry that you have an accident, glad you still alive:) That's why i want to put a new spring on my firing pin before shooting it.

Yes, what an experience !?!.

It's always so valuable to read up on the rifles before firing. Allot of known defects and mods were recorded so we can benefit. Otherwise there an awesome rifle..
