All i have to say is Questar is the best, I just got my email saying that the SCAR's are in and my pre order will be filled as soon as the FRT is released. I have to thank all the boys up there. I have gotten some really nice stuff off of them over the yeras and this will be the crowning of it all.

Apparently this may be the only SCAR order to come to Canada for the fore-see-able future and they have all been pre ordered.

I cant wait to get this thing in my hands!

WELL DONE Questar!

I know that you don't have the gun yet and that you can't take any pictures; however, I wanted to be the first to do this. :)

Enjoy your new toy.

oo my.... I thougt his day would never come; thus would never need to make this decision... to get or not to get....

If you are not on Questar's pre-order list you have no decision to make. They are being offered to those that pre-ordered, in the order that they were pre-ordered. They do not have enough guns to cover the pre-orders. I don't think enough guys will back out for there to be extras, especially since we know that no more are coming in in the foreseeable future. Questar has been told specifically by US State Department that there will be no more Scar's allowed to be exported, other than for military or LE end users.

....especially since we know that no more are coming in in the foreseeable future.......

Ya Ya..... Questar is always saying 'No More'.....'Last Chance'
How can we know that no more are coming...

Never again for the 12" POF..... oh look... 2 more came in.

NO more LMT ... oh look at this 20 gun order that showed up.

Sure he is just being truthful, he can't say 100% if anymore will be in or what will happen next month.
But it sure helps sales............:p

Don't get me wrong, I already told the wife about my $40,000 shopping spree @ Questar when I win the lottery...LOL

I say Non-restricted Scars in the New Year.

Yup never say never, theres been tons of #### brought in that dealers said never again, and yet they still keep coming. Questar is just covering there butts, truth of the matter is there is no guarantee on anything that comes accross the boarder. In sure we'll see some more SCAR's in the future.

I say Non-restricted Scars in the New Year.

Just to clarify...

I don't think we said "Never again for the 12" POF" or "NO more LMT..." but we do try to keep customers informed about the trends we see in our export permit approvals. Our newest FN permit specifically had a PROVISO in it from US State Department excluding the export of SCAR rifles for commercial sale/end-users... so we passed that information along. The guns that just arrived are everything we could get our hands on and we exported on the previous permit we had received (which expired this week). At this point we are 100% accurate when we tell you that right now we can't get anymore and we honestly don't know if that will change in future. State Department could change their mind tomorrow or next month... they could approve someone else's permit application... we don't know and can't predict what will happen. All we can do is give the best information we have at any given time... if that is interpreted as us trying to create a "market" then I'm sorry but that's not the intent. The market was there for the SCAR long before any of that was ever mentioned and we actually reduced the price from what we originally estimated so we certainly didn't create a panic to make more money. If someone else can get a permit and import the guns to Canada then that's great... the more the merrier :)

As for the POF's... we had a fixed number of guns approved and arrive here in Canada. We had a handful of 12" uppers, 16" uppers, 1 x 20" upper and a few lowers. When the 12" upper/lower sold we split one of the 16" upper/lowers and put it up for sale as a 12" upper/lower... and now the 16" upper is for sale on it's own. No additional POF's arrived... the second 12" gun that appeared on the website actually appeared there because a customer asked if we could breakup the 16" and turn it into a 12"... which we did. Nothing nefarious about it.

As for LMT... it was only the past few months that we made a deal with LMT to produce a special run of guns specifically for Questar and specifically for export to Canada to comply with State Department's new permit restrictions... to get that agreement we had to commit to a large quantity of guns produced just for us (and pre-paid by us). Until that deal was finalized with LMT I can honestly tell you that there was no way we were importing more LMT Defeneder Rifles.

Right now what you see on our website is the last of the inventory that we either had here in Canada or that was exported the past couple months on the "old" permits. Guys are getting delivery of guns with all the pre-restriction features because this inventory was exported prior to those restrictions... but as it stands right now when these items are gone, the new inventory will not be the same... and we let customers know that.

Again... if telling people about the new restrictions or that items can't be replaced right now is somehow "bad" on our part then fine... we're bad people ;)

I remember when State Department wouldn't approve the PS90's or FS2000's... for the longest time we couldn't get an export permit no matter what we did... then all of a sudden they approved a permit... it took a couple years but it happened. Does that mean we shouldn't have told anyone about the refusals?

When it comes to US State Department and export permits all you can ever count on is the approved permit you already have in your hand... there is no assurance that the same thing will be approved again or that new restrictions won't be placed on it... or that old restrictions might now be removed. It's an ever changing crap-shoot and it literally changes from day to day.
