I just went to reload some PMC 1x fired brass and I am noticing about half of them look like they have the primer still in the primer pocket with the top of the primer poped off. But I dont recall seeing half of primer in my spent primer tube... Any ideas? If the top of the primer has been popped off how do I get he rest of it out of the case so I can use them?

The ones on the left are proper, the right cases are the ones that I am having an issue with

Crimped primer pockets. The primer is gone, the crimp is still there. If you are going to reprime, you will have to eliminate the crimp.

PMC have on occation had an irregular crimp, and the pictures could be showing this.

However, it might also be a "ringer". I don't get them often, but I have had .223 Rem cases for some reason hold on to the tube section of the primer body, and only shed the anvil and top cap of brass.

If that's the case, I know of no good way to remove the primer remnant.

I have just chamfered the casing and the primers just slip in fine. Used many hundreds of crimped casings and only 5 casualties( ruined primers...my fault not the primers) I like the IVI casings and have reloaded them many times and still going.

I did some investigation and the PMC I have is "US Crimped" I was used to seeing "European Crimp" there is normally three indents around the primer.
