yeah, it does look like it is about 1/32" off
That makes sense based on your pic of it installed.

New block made or re-drill, what's it gonna be?

Its going to be warrenty thats what its going to be... This is there screw up not mine

I also am going to contact kimber in the am and let them know about this

Can-down may I use your photo in a email to kimber ?

Replace the block?

Maybe Kimber can send you a new block with the cross hole drilled in the right place to be installed on the barrel & all will be well? ;)

NAA.

I called kimber they said No to that idea they wont ship nothing barrel related to canada and she said that they can’t even sell the kimber conversion to Canada yet I see them here all the time... I am going to go above the costumer service level and work my way up until they solve this ... You would think that they would want to slove there screw up and make things right

With this hole being out would it effect the way the barrel tips right?

because it also seems to rub the barrel on the top of the slide right at the front edge of the ejection port

The barrel doesn't tip, but maybe the hole is also a bit off on the vertical axis...
You could fix it with a bushing and then re-drill the hole.

I think if they (Kimber) has stated to you that they are not exporting the kits to Canada you are screwed for customer service.

Keep in mind, anything .22lr is generally crude in construction when compared to the center-fire equivalent.

So, your problem is that you can physically install it. I'd be concerned with solving that first (never mind the rubbing).

You could also try asking the person you bought it from for a refund minus shipping given the situation (after all, it works with their 1911).

Me, I'd find a small block of stainless steel and with a file spend a day making a replacement part then have a smith fit it (two holes for pins) and drill the new hole for the slide stop. It might cost you $50 extra when all is said and done, but it'd be as good as new.

I don't see this going well the customer service route (having personally dealt with US companies that don't deal with Canada or export to Canada).

ok, I re-read...

You can install it, you can use it, the only problem is the safety won't engage because it is off slightly... correct?

The other problem is you feel the barrel is rubbing on the slide when it cams/tilts? This is normal, almost all semi-auto barrels tilt and get rubbed.

I think this is a minor fitment issue (judging from the safety pic). Seriously, today shoot a thousand rounds through it and your safety might move up afterwards.
Otherwise, I think a reputable gunsmith could remove a little material from the breech face and solve your fitment issue.

gotcha.

---

ok, unless the "rubbing" is actually binding and you can feel resistance... I wouldn't worry about it.

It does seem to bind up a bit.... So the .22 does not tilt like the .45 barrel?

Well its in the mail on its way to hopefully get warrenty..If not its getting fixed because I hacked the mainsping in that frame to 18lbs so it wont jam useing .22

Fortunate situation

I tryed it on 7 different frames colt, kimber, sti, and norinco. The hole is to far back on the barrel..... I have NO issue with the seller he is my friend and he barely used it

You are in luck then... if you guys are friends, he will surely take it back and save you a trouble.

It works in his guns, not in yours, at least he can use it.

It went to some place in rockey to get warrenty. ... and he did offer to take it back but I refused because I want it.... plus my mainsping it set for the .22 on that frame

UPDATE ...Kimber can suck my C*** I will never buy another kimber product in my life ..Kimber will not warrenty my .22 kit because I am in canada F*** Kimber and there junk product`s If they cant machine a simple kit like this they are useless pile of trash buy a gsg and not this stupid waste of money kit

Also the guy in rockey I sent it to is a total retard I have now tried this slide on 28 different 1911 frames and it does not fit on any of them sure it works and goes on but the safety will not function at all

<--------- Is Really Pissed Off @ Kimber
