Write him back and say "What a coincidence, my brother-in-law lives in Winnipeg too and will come by and check out the pistol or meet you at your local club/range for a viewing before I advance the money to buy it".

See what he says to that.... ;) :D

Well, he says he has that gun; we know it's prohib; he's dumb enough to advertise - I'm sure any friends you have on the Winnipeg Police Service would drop around to check it out for you - might even throw in a set of bracelets if he does have it. If someone does get it checked out, ask if they could take a picture of the look on his face when they go through the door and post it here - I'm cruel that way.

Assuming he's a very unintelligent civilian, that would be ####ing EPIC! My money is on either scam or setup, 50/50 @.@

Simple! Call CFC and give them serial number above and ask if such gun owner by anyone in Canada. If not, you have a probable cause to report it to Winnipeg Police that someone is selling illegal handgun. Give them all details, so they could pick up the guy when he opens an envelope with monopoly money addressed to "joe rossi" :popCorn:
 
Seriously, someone should move on this.

Scammers make my blood boil. I recently got burnt by one for $6,600 after my firm made repairs on his commercial refrigeration system. Although it was a lot of money, I must admit that I was in awe at the way he pulled it off. Some of these guys are real pros. If they invested half the effort in a legitimate career, they'd be millionaires...

Pat, you gonna show this guy out or what?
 
Well, the pictures and text are from tampa gun trader.. Or he is scamming there too.

Good lord the rent is cheap $594 a month for a one bedroom...
