My moral compass is aligned as follows...taking advantage of individuals, small businesses, etc not acceptable. Taking advantage of corporations that have offices full of people employed to figure out ways to take advantage of people....no problem.
Somebody obviously screwed up and put the wrong code into the computer system. These things happen when you hire low wage students to work in your store. Even with the losses from mistakes like this its still worth it for the company because of the savings in wages.
To think that Canadian Tire head office is going to decide to stop selling ammo because they lost $50 at one store or that the price off ammo is going up because of it is pretty simplistic.
Ammo doesnt make them money. All of the other outdoors equipment does. Ammo is good to sell because it brings traffic in to the stores.
