Canadian Tire Greatness

Well our local CT made a mistake also on pricing except it was on decoys they had the whole pack priced at the price of a single(wish I knew why they want to sell them in singles). I brought it to the attention of the clerk and it was fixed and I recieved a discount for my honesty.

Come on, I'm a honest person and all but you really think CT is gonna take a hit from this little screw up?

I know people who worked in their financial departement and this is peanuts compared to the losses they take on credit card fraud and they still offer credit cards don't they.

If this was my local gunshop I would say something but like I said before I'm sure CT won't notice the loss.

So it's OK to steal as long as whoever you are stealing form won't really notice? You may want to take your moral compass in and get it checked. I think it may be off by a few degrees... ;)

I guess I know who not to do business with in the EE now...

I own a business and we track profits and losses based on a sku.
If we notice that one sku is losing more money than it's worth, we get rid of that sku

Now having said that, mistakes happen, and scanning a wrong code is definitely a fact of life.

However! I train my people to notice this, and use their "intelligence" when this happens. Also, ####ing over a company due to a scanning error only helps you at the cash register once. If I would have a situ like this in my organization, I would definitely either stop carrying that paroduct or lock the sales down.

Just my $.02

I don't remember saying stealing was Ok as it is NOT in my books. He paid the price that was asked for the product, that simple, if the employees lack the training to properly mark the product or scan the product or whatever the case maybe then what should CT expect, it also doesn't help that I know the manager of one of the local CTs and don't think at all very highly of him. I guess my personal feelings are swaying my opinion on this matter towards CT.

Also I could care less if you or anybody else wouldn't deal with me on EE as I have never and don't ever plan to sell anything on the EE. I plan to keep and use everything I buy.

To the self righteous

My moral compass is aligned as follows...taking advantage of individuals, small businesses, etc not acceptable. Taking advantage of corporations that have offices full of people employed to figure out ways to take advantage of people....no problem.
Somebody obviously screwed up and put the wrong code into the computer system. These things happen when you hire low wage students to work in your store. Even with the losses from mistakes like this its still worth it for the company because of the savings in wages.
To think that Canadian Tire head office is going to decide to stop selling ammo because they lost $50 at one store or that the price off ammo is going up because of it is pretty simplistic.
Ammo doesnt make them money. All of the other outdoors equipment does. Ammo is good to sell because it brings traffic in to the stores.
Congrats, JD for being a lucky beneficiary of the capitalist system.

This happened to me ten years ago got to bricks for the price of two boxes also saw a fella years ago when they sold the cheep lead shot gun shells get two cases for the price of two boxes they have them priced buy the box the kid at the till sometimes misses the fact that a brick is ten little boxes not just one.

It comes down to honesty and integrity. are they worth more than money or is money worth more than quality characteristics??

f**k some of you guys are small minded.....

Will they take a hit? 'Course not.

Will they notice that 900+ rounds of baby killing bullets are gone out of stock without record of them being sold? Yup.

Will they overreact to the above? Probably.

Will they consider it too large of a liability to continue to stock ammo as it is just "dissapearing"? Also likely.

Give yer heads a shake...stealing is stealing regardless of who it is from, Trying to justify it is just you trying to feel better about being a punk.

As if stealing isn't stupid enough, stealing ammo is likely to cause the store to stop selling it, thereby screwing over ALL gun owners in the area.....and thats not only morally repugnant, it's f**king stupid.

WTF is this world coming to.....men used to have honour, nows punks come in and brag about how they screwed a local retailer for multiple bricks of ammo....AND they get cheered on by other members!

Sad. Just friggin sad.....

I don't believe the OP ever bragged about ripping off the store he just said that he bought ammo at an unbelievable price.

Secondly this type of thing has never happened to me personally (as I'm sure you're all glad to hear).

Any item marked or scanned at the wrong price is required to be sold at that price in my province. If the item scans at a higher price than marked on the shelf the item is to be discounted by 10$ or to be given freely. It's in some piece of consumer protection legislation I was forced to read when i worked retail. Anyways i have no worries about Canadian Tire, i worked there once and that place eats souls. Keep up the completely legal pillaging, i hate that company.

Scamming #### and taking advantage of ANYONES stupidity is wrong.Wether it be a large multi million dollar corporation or an individual. This is why prices are so high because our society has lost its honour and integrity. They may simply not want to sell ammo anymore like CT's within city limits. Congragulations on your cowardly rape of the system type attitude... Idiot...

For those who justify this as taking it to the man. Everyone of the Canadian Tires are owned an operated by an individual licensee. Unlike walmart Generally they are all a Mom and Pop operation.

Some of you guys need to stop and go figure out the markups on half the products cambodian tire is selling! Might make you think twice about who is robbing who!

Thes corporations are robbing us everyday and laughing all the way to the bank!

The OP did nothing illegal and I used to work in loss prevention and know for a fact it would never be seen that way. Dishonest? Maby but when you are paying the prices you are for half the #### in these stores who is really being dishonest?

Ummm.....who exactly is FORCING you to shop there? If you feel that you are paying too much, it's totally your own fault.

"I think they rip people off....but I still shop there....and let them rip me off.....even though it's my choice, it's their fault.....so it's ok to rip them off"

ummmmm....yeah:rolleyes:
