Hoping this is the right forum.

Is there anyone that knows of or can be in touch with either Bruce or Tina of Misty Gun Works? They have a rifle of mine that they've been Smithing for quite some time (since December 2009) and though there was some issues that delayed delivery as promised in May, and then July because of it, communication has been slim to nil. I have lost count of how many times I've called on the off chance that they would be home, only to find their message says they are gone, inbox full, or I'll leave a message only not to be called back.

They seem like stand up people, normal hard working rural Albertan's, and I'm hoping I'm not stepping on toes here, but I want my rifle back so I can go hunt with it. I'm really hoping that there are not family issues or some kind of extended issues that they are dealing with, but this seems excessive as Bruce and I haven't talked on the phone since May. I'm hoping someone on here either knows them personally and could give me some insight and put a bug in there ear.

Thanks.

I think they'll be at the gun show here in North Battleford this weekend, so I'll try to remember to scoop a card and relay their contact info. I thought I had a card around here, but failed to find it.

Thanks man, but I have their card. That's how I've been able to call them and at times email (again, no response). What I'm looking for here is someone to put me in touch with them or to get them to call/make contact with me either through here or other means.

Thanks again.

Well, after many messages when I could leave them, success. I got a call yesterday out of the blue, and all going well I'm getting my rifle on the 31st of Oct. Trick or Treat, who knows. Thanks for all who've helped.

are you sure

I would just get someone to pick it up and ship it back to you, sounds a little fishy to me

Well, they're apparently on their way up for a hunt that day for a week. If it really comes down to it and I'm still without gun after that date, I'll be making a visit of my own.

Hey boys, I agree- That's why I started this thread here! Anything but regular contact, and I'll be asking some poignant questions as to why the massive lapse in comms, and length of time to complete the job. End result is my rifle back in my warm, alive hands. I'm 95% there. Not so sure this needs any further discussion here.

Mods, care to close this?

Rifle delivered today. Sounds like there were some family issues which aggravated the issue. Hope all is well down the road,

Thanks to all involved here.

Well I thought all was resolved, until I looked at the work done for the Scope mount.

Good people, I do not doubt. The ability to Tap and Mount a weaver base? I do.

As you can see, its off to the left by at least 5-10 degrees, not centred with the bore.

I'm not even going to call to inform. Its not worth my while, or effort as I'm in Edmonton, they're in Castor and I really don't want them to fix this.

I'm a bit defeated as to how to fix the problem now, though I've looked at the Advanced Technologies Scope base here, which you can apparently "drop" in.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I've waited 11 months to get this back with a view to get out hunting with it, with a scope mounted. I'm quickly realizing this may not happen.

I'm appealing for help
