I didnt know you could adjust a trigger on a browning a-bolt. I was just looking at a a-bolt stainless stalker chambered in 300wsm at my friends place. He replaced a spring in the trigger and now its feels like 2.5 lb pull. I think he ordered the spring through Brownells. It was a cheap fix. Good luck Pete

Yes you can order a lighter spring from Brownells I think they are $35,00 bucks
so I hunted some down in Vancover stock springs from Dynaline you need a 5/32x.023 9/16 long package number is 24500 . 6 for $ 12 dollars .If you send e mail me your address I will send you one .I have 4 left . Changing the spring should get you to 2.5 to 3 lbs.

Bolt not being smooth enough is definately an odd complaint for a Browning....First time I've ever heard it in fact. Are the races in the reciever clean?

I used to have a stainless stalker (see my avatar) and the bolt was so bindy I eventually had it ceramic coated . I have heard galling used to be a common problem with stainless guns.

Fair enough, I haven't used many stainless guns...I prefer blued anyway.

I installed the timney spring kit. Wasn't cheap for a spring, but I traded the light spring for another heavy and put the 2nd in my other abolt. IMO it made a heavy but creppy free trigger just perfect in 2 guns, was worth it!

Also. I agree, I've never felt an Abolt that wasn't smooth.
