Email notifications from subscribed threads

Uggggh.... feels so weird to be making a thread in here when I'm close to 3000 posts... bare with me boys..

Last night I received 54 emails from threads I'm subscribed to. I've been putting off changing settings for a while now but last night was too many!

So here's my problem. I changed settings to "no email notification" but I still got 43 emails tonight.

Why?

Because you may have changed it in the wrong place. The setting you changed was for notification of a PM or notes from Admins.

Go back into UserCP, Subscriptions, and then you can change which threads will send you emails when there are updates.

lol I have like 100+ email replies a day, you haven't gotten used to it yet? I like it, helps me track what stuff I have posted in/etc

no, if you change it from your UserCP you will not have to do that every day (vs if you change it at the bottom of the thread/reply)

In UserCP, Subscriptions, you can use the check-box and drop-down list to either delete the subscription or change the frequency of the updates.

x2 on skeetgunner - that setting you changed is probably from now going forward on all new threads or replies, you will have to remove any outstanding subscriptions that you have set up to stop receiving those I believe.

This is correct. You will not receive notifications for any new threads that you post in but the notifications will still be in place for all of your previous threads. I did the same as you about a year or so ago... It took a week or two for the notifications to dwindle to zero. But every now and then I get a notification when someone resurrects a deceased thread form the grave... but it's easy enough to deal with that.
