I was very excited to get my new NEA railed stock adapter and Cantilever Scope Mount today .....................................w:h:

Wow was I impressed with the knew design, very impressive to say the least. Slick and well made, finish and slimmer new design flows great with my Magpul UBR.

Everything fits like a glove, did I say this setup is awsome. I tried two different scopes; the sight picture could not have lined up better for me.

Here are some pictures, some are a bit dark but with all the rain today there was no getting a nice shot outside.

That stock looks f-ing hot on the VZ.

crap.. thanks arsehole.

Going to have to pull a adapter out of inventory and get a stock I see.

Thats the Magpul UBR stock right? where did u pick it up and how much did it cost?

I watched e-Bay until I found a price I liked. Just make sure its not the PTS version licenced by Magpul but made in China. Those units are normally cheaper. "Pre Training System"PTS version is for airsoft, not sure what the difference is but I wanted a proper stock for my rifle, made in USA that could stand up to years of wear.

Can your remove the dust cover and internals, for cleaning, without taking down the scope rail and thus losing your zero?

The whole idea of the cantilever mount is to be able to pop your optic off in event of a failure and keep hammering away, or to remove it via the QD lever to clean the guts of the rifle, then put it back on without a shift in zero.

To remove the dust cover you must take off the cantilever scope mount. GOOD news is it goes on and off without loosing zero, and could not be any easier. I really like how easy it is to use but also locks up really tight for a secure mounting base. Great for changing up sighting systems when you want to do it fast.

Here's the link below: Note the video shows the previous version of the Cantilever scope mount, new one is longer and lower, works great.

I'm putting in an order with Neit for the combo next pay day. Totally fired up for this bad boy. Just need to source some optics, and I'm good to go. Oh, and I'll have to borrow someone's bench vise to get the old stock off. The crappy part of living in an apartment is not having a suitable work bench.

I found a bit that has a hex head you need to put into a socket and give er. If you insert the bit and put the rifle between your legs while you turn it works as a vise.

Also, a member pm'd me saying that there is a massive flathead screwdriver he bought from KNS tools in Langley that got the job done.

If you or anyone else wants to borrow my bit I can mail to you and then mail it back when your done.

I have two massive flatheads that I've managed to break on this thing, and I keep putting off grabbing my tire iron, which I'll probably do tonight.

With the interest shown I thought I would add some shots which shows the very solid locking system this was designed with. Allows for easy adjustment of tension or how stiff you want the latch to be. I have mine tight but can easily release with one finger. Also really like the 2 stage latch if I can call it that. You push in the smaller centre latch which acts as a safety and then engage the larger swing latch to remove the mount. This prevents any chance of accidental release..

These pictures below show the tension adjustment bolt which recesses into the mount so it won't come loose.

When you buy the Cantilever scope mount, does the railed stock adapter come with it? Were did you buy from?

You can buy them bundled or you can buy them seperately as you can also run a set of BUIS on the railed stock adapter and either a barrel clamp or hand guard.

I found that the NEA Cantilever Mount does not hold very strongly; and I'm not even talking about removal/reattachment.

Due to a matter of circumstances (mostly lack of patience), I used the cantilever mount on a .308 (M14 in a SAGE EBR). I had a NF 2.5-10x on it, and it grouped probably 2-3inches at 50 yards with 5 shots. Using the built in iron sights, I shot about 0.75 inches in a 5 shot group. This was using a Harris bipod, repeated test groupings with the scope. Consistently worse than using iron sights, group size was approx. 3 times larger.

I had the mount clamped so tight I could not remove without something to lever it open, but I triple checked that the mount was still locked down.

I assume this is due to the pic rail being so unsupported away from the lever clamp. Not a fault of construction, but a fault of designing out of necessity.
