How often do you clean the gas chamber? (SKS)

I clean EVERYTHING after shooting corrosive, -barrel clean really good -piston & everything associated with it really good -chamber clean good -complete action clean good -firing pin cleaned every 2-3 times out

SKS's come apart so easy it's ridiculous, so really why wouldn't you strip and clean everything every time you shoot it? That is what I do and I imagine what most SKS owners do too.

x2.

I'm of the same opinion. I strip mine right down and give everything a quick once over and remove all the carbon deposits. Still looks like new.

I religiously clean mine everytime I shoot corrosive NOW.
Before, I neglected to clean mine a few times. More often then not with no ill effect, BUT the couple of times some humidity got in it caused some pretty serious rust in there. Cleanable but sobering.
Like everyone has said, it's easy to take apart, and about a 10minute easy clean, I know it sucks after firing only ten rounds but if you love your'e gun don't take the risk. Mind you I only paid 150$ for my Chinese......

Every time I shoot. Once home, a rifle can be stripped and cleaned in the duration of a cold beer. 3 rifles= 3 beers, now what to do with the other 3 beers?

If you can"t clean your SKS right away use G96 It will be fine until you do a complete clean. Remember to use HOPPES#9.

An SKS is so easy to take apart, why wouldn't you do a thorough job? It's not like anyone is unaware of the ammo being corrosive. I got mine well used and it was evidently not completely taken apart and cleaned regularly, the barrel isn't bad but the gas chamber and piston are rusty. I've done my best to salvage everything but I will need to replace those parts at some point. I always completely disassemble it to thoroughly clean and oil it after shooting.
