I know they're prohib, but let's say someone wanted to make a non-restricted shotgun LOOK like a SPAS-12, what would be the best platform to build off of? Are there dress-up kits or anything like that?

Must be semi-auto....

Thanks!

no dress-up kits ive come across ..

you want function more or aesthetics more..

cos i think the M1 super90 has a version which is pump/semi select

Oh function be damned LOL, I want a fully semi auto, spas-12 look-a-like :)

EDIT: I guess really it'd just be the handguard, heat shield, and vertical collapsible stock....

Wow, that turkish shotgun is pretty much exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks for the links!

You can still buy other Benelli shotguns that look similar such as the Benelli M4 Tactical. Wolverine Supply sells them for $2200.

I know, just not the Super 90 with the semi/pump switchable operation. According to the CFC that makes it shoot kittens and babies all by itself.

I just got back from the range with my Tomahawk SA-1800, top-folder. A lot of fun, fires reliably for the most part. When I'd mix up #6 bird and throw in an 0 Buck it would consistently fail to cycle the next round of #6. Overall, good shooter, would dump the rounds as fast as you could pull the trigger. Only issues were the front sight fell off and the trigger guard pin came loose after 80 rounds.

I do not own a Tomahawk shotgun but have handled one, I would not recommend it; they seem very cheaply built and flimsy. Parts may also be an issue.

Owwwwwww...... that hurts....

Wait, I don't understand. You ultimately want a Spas12, but they're prohib. Yet you balk at the price of the next best thing in Canada? If the Spas12 wasn't prohibited, or if you had the appropriate license, I guarantee you wouldn't get one for the price of a Benelli M4, if you could find one. Plus the M4 is way more reliable.

sign me up then

I dont know why guys choose these over remington or mossberg semiauto's if they are on a budget. if the budget is real tight, get a used one.
